This is a guide for Chapter 4 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, covering the first portion of High Maktha Wildwood in the Pentelas Region.
Where to go after Colony Tau¶

After befriending Juniper and Colony Tau, the quest continues. To save time, you could fast-travel back to the Vista of Rhonnar, the entrance of the woods. From there, head north back to where you first clashed with Juniper. Then ride the zip-line down to the opposite side.
Alternatively, from the Colony Tau Entrance, you can ride the nearby zip-line by the corner. This’ll lead you to a container and a ladder that also takes you near the previous Juniper fight.
Either way, after riding the zip-line, you’ll arrive at a somewhat wide area, with a pool in one of the far corners and a tree trunk on your left, which leads to some high level foes.
If you’ve brave, you could try running past the foes until you reach the climbable walls that confer invincibility. Keep going and you’ll reach a secret area at the top of the Great Cotte Falls.
Otherwise, head east from the pool by the corner to trigger a surprise quest…
