This page offers a guide on how to complete the Tau-Tirkin Alliance standard quest in Colony Tau in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
How to Start the Tau-Tirkin Alliance Standard Quest¶
This quest can be started by speaking to Rowland, found east from the Colony Tau Ferronis landmark in Colony Tau. After speaking to him, discuss ‘Food for Tau’ at a rest point (Colony Tau Canteen is the nearest).

How to Complete the Tau Tirkin-Alliance Standard Quest¶
You have two choices in this quest: you can either collect x50 of 
Green Nectarine, Tirkingrass, Shiny Rose and 
Glare Aubergine and hand them to the Tirking at Tirkinhold, or you can head up to the Tirkinhold without the food and break the alliance. This will make all Tirkins hostile to you and you will also be locked out of having them on your affinity chart. So for you completionists out there, you’ll want to take the hard route and choose to collect the items instead.
This may feel like a mammoth collectible quest and in some ways it definitely is - you’ve been asked to collect 200 items to hand over to the Tirkin. However, you can make this task far easier. The first thing you’ll want to do after discussing the quest and starting it is to speak to Rowland again. He’ll give you x10 Green Nectarine towards the cause. Then, speak to Graziana found near the canteen and she’ll give you x20 more Green Nectarine! They’ll do this for each of the four ingredients - just speak to them again whenever you’ve collected the full amount of the previous collectible.

Doing this will mean you only have to collect 20 of each item rather than 50 - 80 in total rather than the eyewatering 200!
Where to Find Green Nectarine¶
Green Nectarine can be found near the Vista of Rhonnar and Sparkling Pool Camp. You can also obtain this ingredient in bulk from the Cascade Hulk Fabricator - it costs 900G each time you fabricate materials and you may have to do this a few times depending on how many you need! The fabricator is also random so its never guaranteed.
Using the fabricators is a very useful and quick way to obtain lots of materials and each of the materials needed for the Tau-Tirkin Alliance quest can be obtained from Fabricators!
The Cascade Hulk fabricator can be used to obtain Green Nectarine, Tirkingrass and Shiny Rose.
Where to Find Tirkingrass¶
Tirkingrass can be found by Titan Rock Camp, the central Great Motte Falls region and the Vista of Rhonnar. However, the easiest way to obtain it is to use the Cascade Hulk Fabricator.
Where to Find Shiny Rose¶
Shiny Rose are found around the Ruins of Sebebu Camp. However, the easiest way to obtain it is to use the Cascade Hulk Fabricator.
Where to Find Glare Aubergine¶
Glare Aubergine can be found north of the Vista of Rhonnar, past the zipline to the north. They aren’t a rare item but there doesn’t seem to be many spawn points for them either. Unfortunately, Glare Aubergine cannot be obtained from the Cascade Hulk Fabricator like the others. Instead, you can get them from the Clifftop Hulk, found on the Urayan Trail. This hulk is a far higher level than the Cascade Hulk - with the enemies being Level 48. Collecting Glare Aubergines - the last item to collect - may slow down your completion of this quest. The Clifftop Hulk Fabricator costs 1500G so the last item to collect will also be more expensive.
The Clifftop Hulk Fabricator can be used to obtain Glare Aubergine.
Once you have all items, head over to the Tirkinhold, found near the Sparkling Pool Camp and you’ll be permitted to head in and hand over the ingredients. Remember - if you don’t have the items you can choose to break the alliance. For your enormous effort you’ll earn a friendship with the Tirkin and the following rewards:
