Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The Castle Beckons

By
Jarrod Garripoli

This is a guide for The Castle Beckons Standard Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How to Start The Castle Beckons Standard Quest

Vinisog Holm will be your first destination during this quest

The Castle Beckons is part of the main story and required to continue with it. You will automatically start this quest after completing Castle Access. You are to meet up with someone who has escaped from the prison, at Vinisog Holm.

How to Complete The Castle Beckons Standard Quest

First, you will need to reach Vinisog Holm, which is the first small island you will encounter upon exiting the waterway after first getting your ship. It is north-northeast from that exit and once you reach the island, head up to the rest spot for some scenes. Eventually, you will meet with Kisame and the plan is to find some info on the prison on two islands, Corne Island and Thurbin Island. You will be able to choose which one to go to first, and it doesn’t matter which one you go to first.

Corne Island

From Vinisog Holm, board the Boundary and sail north-west to Corne Island, near the west edge of Erythia Sea. You want to land at the south-eastern shore of the island, where Doublecrag Gate is. From there, head north a bit, then follow the path west and eventually north towards the back of the island. Alternatively, there’s a narrow path going north, a short distance past Doublecrag Gate, leading to a climbable wall. If you go this way, you can go around Antol Pit, then drop down around the west side. There are Agnian troops along this way though.

(1 of 2) The Testudo Pair is a challenging boss fight you will encounter on Corne Island

The Testudo Pair is a challenging boss fight you will encounter on Corne Island (left), The reason for that is because they call for reinforcements at the start of the battle (right)

At the back of the island, there’s a shore where your target, the Balaena, is parked. For more information on the boss fight here, visit the Testudo Pair page. You will get a piece of Info after completing this boss battle.

Thurbin Island

Thurbin Island is located north of Daedal Isle, which is north of Vinisog Holm. You will have two options here on how to infiltrate Thurbin Island, either head on or via a back entrance. The head-on approach will require you to fight some Agnian soldiers before being able to access the Erythia Relay Base. If you go with the sneaky way, you will need to Anu Shoals first. Look for the one island just northeast of the Anu Shoals Camp and climb to the top, where some zip-lines will connect to the other islands in the chain. Eventually, you will find one of the zip-lines will deposit you right in the Erythia Relay Base.

(1 of 2) Going through the front will force you into some extra battles

Going through the front will force you into some extra battles (left), Using the zip-lines on Anu Shoals will allow you to sneak into the base (right)

For more detailed information on these two options, visit the Exploring Thurbin Island page of the main walkthrough. However you infiltrate the Relay Base, make/fight your way to the Data Archives and inspect the console to get a second piece of Info. Head back to Vinisog Holm to discuss the info and finish this quest.
