This page details how to combo during combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Break, Topple, Daze Combo¶
The Break-Topple-Daze combo is one of the most powerful moves you can pull off in combat. It involves using multiple attacks that can perform different status effects.
So for example, some classes and characters will have break arts, whilst others will have topple or daze arts. It’s important to make sure your party always has at least one of each of the three elements of the combo otherwise you won’t be able to pull off the combo. The set order of status effects always needs to be Break > Topple > Daze. The AI is reasonably smart so if you land a Break art, then your team will follow up in the right order! But, if you’re not controlling the character with the Break art then you’ll have to be diligent and keep an eye out for your spot in the set order! Once the enemy is toppled and dazed you’ll have loads of time before it gets back up, allowing you to get in some uncontested damage!
It’s also worth mentioning that not all attacks will land so sometimes characters will evade a Break attack and the combo will fall through until the Break attack is back up again. ffw
Break, Topple, Daze, Burst Combo¶
Later in the game, you’ll unlock Burst attacks which can be performed at the end of the typical combo sequence to perform even more damage: Break > Topple > Daze > Burst.
Break, Topple, Launch, Smash Combo¶
There is also a different combo in which you can swap out daze for a launch and smash combo! It’s all dependent on what kind of moves your party has. So instead of being incapacitated on the floor, your party will launch the enemy into the air and smash into them for loads of damage!
