Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Bugs

By
Jarrod Garripoli

This is a guide for the Bugs Standard Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How to Start the Bugs Standard Quest

Naturally, before even starting this, you need to have Colony Iota unlocked, which is done via the Hero Quest, Her Reasons. You might also need to do the other quests in Colony Iota in order to unlock this one. The Bugs quest has a bit of a weird way to start it, compared to the majority of the other quests in the game. To start, you likely won’t be able to get it to appear until Chapter 5 of the main story, so make sure you wait until then. After finishing the events at Keves Castle, you will be back at the Syra Hovering Reefs. At this time, you will unlock a new Collectopaedia Card for Sif, who is from Colony Lambda. The weird thing is that the message at the top of the Card is all gibberish. There will be two different lists for Sif, both of which should just require pretty common items that can be found at the Urayan Tunnels.

(1 of 3) Complete both of Sif’s Collectopaedia Cards first

After completing those Collectopaedia Cards, head on over to Colony Iota and you should find two NPCs gossiping about these Cards. Listening to them will net you the Collectopaedia Abuse Info, which you should discuss at a rest spot/canteen. Doing this will unlock the quest.

How to Complete the Bugs Standard Quest

The party suggests that maybe something is wrong with the Collectopaedia Card system, which Alexandria notes that you should ask Sequoia about it. After a little bit of discussion, they figure out that the source of the requests is likely coming from the Urayan Tunnels and that something has happened there, as all of the items needed are from there. So, your goal is to explore the Urayan Tunnels, the first area you happened upon when entering the Pentelas Region.

Specifically, the closest landmark would be the Stoneyard landmark, so head there. Once you are able to move after fast travelling, take the narrow tunnel to the north and you will eventually reach a large rock blocking an opening. After a short scene showing the rock, interact with it to move it out of the way and find Sif in the opening behind it. Speak to him to rescue Sif, then report back to Sequoia at Colony Iota to finish the quest.
