By

This is a guide for the Moebius N boss fight in Chapter 5 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, taking place in the Cadensia region.

Moebius N is the final boss of Chapter 5 in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How to Beat Moebius N

A battle with Moebius N is the final battle of this grueling gauntlet that makes up the end of Chapter 5. If you think the game was going to go easy on you after the Moebius M battle, you’ve got a rude awakening. Moebius N is by far the toughest of the three bosses and although he has no auto-attack, his Arts hit hard, especially once he’s Enraged.

Moebius N is all about his Arts, as he won’t auto-attack and instead keep his hands on his sheath before using an Art. You can learn all about those Arts below:

  • Blood Moon: Moebius N will unsheathe his blade and strike a single target, causing moderate damage and inflicting the Bleed debuff.
  • Chimera: Moebius N will strike a single target multiple times, dealing moderate to major damage based on how many hits connect.
  • Shred the Strawman: Moebius N will reposition himself and then strike a single target, dealing moderate damage and inflicting Physical Defense and Evasion Down along with causing Topple.
  • Glimmering Swiftblade (EX): Moebius N swings his blade around him, dealing moderate AoE damage to all targets around him. Once Enraged, he may use the Ex version of this Art which increases the damage and adds Knockback.
  • Kenotic Purge: Moebius N will charge, granting himself the Attack Up and Critical Rate Up buffs.

As we mentioned above, the battle with Moebius N is an odd one due to the fact that he won’t auto-attack you. You may think this a mercy, but he will use Blood Moon often enough that it may as well be an auto-attack. This Art will also deal Bleed so having access to Cure Bullet (via the War Medic Class) will make life a little easier here.

Chimera is Moebius N’s most dangerous attack, although it is a multi-hit Art which means that unless all of the hits connect, it will only deal moderate as opposed to major damage to whoever he targets (hopefully one of your Tanks!). Shred the Strawman takes some time to use, but if he gets it off, it will burden you with Physical Defense and Evasion down along with potentially causing Topple.

(1 of 2) Moebius N won’t use any auto-attacks against you

Moebius N won’t use any auto-attacks against you (left), Glimmering Swiftblade can be upgraded when he’s Enraged. (right)

Glimmering Swiftblade is Moebius N’s only AoE Art, but it’s a damaging one and will hit anyone that is close to him. All of these Arts become increasingly deadlier once he uses Kenotic Purge, increasing both his Attack and Critical Rate. Chimera especially will often Critical most hits once he is Enraged and has used Kenotic Purge.

The main takeaway from when Moebius N is a massive increase in damage. He will pause far less often than before between his Arts and will even chain some of them together. More importantly, he will begin using Glimmering Swiftblade EX which increases the damage of the Art and adds a Knockback modifier to it. The Moebius N battle becomes a lot easier to manage if your two Healers are a Signifier (for the many buffs they offer) and a War Medic (to help out with curing the many debuffs Moebius N uses against you).

Once you finally down Moebius N, you can breathe a sigh of relief as this gauntlet of boss battles come to a conclusion, along with Chapter 5. Prepare yourself though, many lengthy scenes will take place before you regain control.
