This is a guide for the “Side Story - Sena” Ascension Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to starting the Quest and upgrading Sena’s default Class, Ogre.

How to Start the Side Story: Sena Ascension Quest¶
If you’ve been paying attention to the Hero Roster in the System menu, you’ll have noticed that there are Ascension Quests in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Completing these Quests will release the Rank cap on that particular Hero’s Class, allowing you to take it to Rank 20. On top of this, each of the main characters have a side story that will release the Rank cap on their default Classes.

Sena’s Side Story is the third optional one you can complete, and you’ll be able to begin it by reaching Chapter 7 in the main story and progressing until you return to the City. The Info Fragment needed to start this Quest can be found by heading to the Mxene Tech Quarter where you can find the Info Fragment Ghondor’s Grumblings. Head to a Rest Spot and discuss this to begin the Ascension Quest.
How to Complete the Side Story - Sena Ascension Quest¶
Head to the Material Storage Warehouse at the Great Sword¶
Your first task for this Ascension Quest is to complete Monica’s task, to secure the Material Storage Warehouse over at the Great Sword, the location of where you secured the Ether Cylinders earlier in the main story. You can use Skip Travel to the Material Storage Warehouse Landmark and you’ll trigger a scene.
The Rhoguls shouldn’t pose a threat to your party at this late stage of the game.
You’ll be ambushed by a group of four Lv 51 Feyz Rhoguls, you’ve fought plenty of these by this point and these are no different. Just be careful of your positioning to prevent from falling off the edge here, an easy enough mistake to make. Once the task is complete, the gang will wait for transport back to the city and once you regain control, head on over to the east to reach it and take it back to the City.
Investigate the City¶
Once the scenes conclude, you’ll find yourself back at the City where it appears all of the residents are in a form of stasis. You’ll need to make your way to Memorial Hall but many Agnus Levnises will attempt to block your way. These are all around Level 54, and you can choose to throw down with them if you like but running is also another option, once you reach the Memorial Hall, a scene will trigger and, what seemed like an inevitability, comes to pass, a showdown with Shania, as Moebius S, awaits.
You can either choose to fight the Tetsudo or just run by them to reach the Memorial Hall.
