Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The Harvest

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to complete The Harvest standard quest in Colony Tau in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

How to Start The Harvest

To begin this quest, you’ll need to listen to Geum’s info once you’ve liberated Colony Tau. He can be found in the tents in the eastern region of the colony. After listening to his information, you’ll need to discuss “Harvest Time” at a rest point - the closest is Colony Tau Canteen - to begin The Harvester standard quest.

Geum will tell you about the Harvest.

How to Complete the Harvest

First off, head down to the Colony Tau entrance and search for Carson. Speak to him and he’ll ask you all to pitch in and help harvest the crops!

After interacting with the crops and witnessing a few brief cut scenes, you’ll have finished up your harvesting duties.

How to Defeat the Spud-Starved Beasts

However, the Harvesting efforts have drawn some unwanted attention and there is a horde of Spud-Starved Beasts at the Colony Tau entrance that you’ll need to fend off!

Don’t be fooled by their appearance, the fight against the Spud-Starved Beasts is pretty brutal! If you’re underlevelled (less than Level 34), consider returning to this quest another time because this is an arduous fight where you’ll have to fight three waves of four different kinds of beasts consecutively with no breaks to regen and catch your breath! It’s recommended you are perhaps even a level or two higher than the beasts as it’ll make this test of endurance a lot easier!

The best way to approach this fight more generally is to make your party focus their attacks on individual enemies so as to whittle their health down one by one.

How to Fight the Hungry Anlood

This phase is tough because the Anlood are annoyingly tanky and can also collectively regenerate a lot of their health instantaneously. Using your Ouroboros forms will be of massive use in doing AOE damage and AOE healing - you might also want your party to prioritise interlinking so they perform extra damage and healing whenever they can.

The Anlood are deceptively strong!

How to Fight the Hungry Skwaror

This lot are a lot weaker in terms of health than the Anlood. If you focus each one down individually you should have a decent time of whittling down their health quickly. They also won’t regenerate their health so you don’t have to worry about that either.

The Skwaror are a bit weaker than the Anlood so you can use this time to recuperate a little.

How to Fight the Hungry Quadwing

The Quadwings are strong enemies and pack quite the bunch. You should try to save some powerful attacks from fighting the Skwaror to burst down the Quadwing as soon as they appear. This includes saving your Chain Attack activation and Ouroboros form! After fighting the other 8 enemies, your party may also be a little worse for wear. Consider using lots of healing arts during your chain attacks to replenish your party’s health before the end of the chain attack!

The Quadwings are a tough final battle but if you save some powerful arts and chain attacks you should be able to make it through!

Once you’ve fought off all 12 Spud-Starved Beasts, you’ll need to report back to Carson, who can be found near the crops. You’ll earn the following for completing this quest:

EXP Gold SP Rewards
2080 EXP 1120 G 3 SP Silver Feather
