A Colony 30 squad sent into Dannagh Desert hasn’t returned, and communications are down. Go there to check on their well-being.
How to Start The Missing Squad Standard Quest¶
To begin this quest, progress through the game until you reach Chapter 3, then you’ll have to liberate Colony 30. From here, continue playing through the main story and regularly check back at Colony 30 until you find some residents talking on the Maintenance Bay. Listen in by pressing 
How To Defeat The Agnus Recon Squad in Xenoblade Chronicles 3¶
After you’ve accepted the quest, travel over to the Great Idalla Ravine Landmark and walk northwest through the Dannagh Desert until you reach Devil’s Skillet. Here you’ll find that the Agnus Recon Squad is attacking the squad which was sent out from Colony 30, so Noah will need to help them out. There isnt a particular enemy you need to focus on so just focus on the same one everyone else is fighting and make use of Cancel Attacks along with Buffs to deal more damage.

As long as you’re around the same level as the enemy you shouldn’t need to make use of any of the more damaging toys, but if you find yourself struggling the Ouroboros are always there to help. Once the enemies will answer a couple questions, so answer them freely as the choice doesn’t affect the outcome of the quest.
