This is a walkthrough for the World Quest, Sacrificial Offering which is the second part in the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual Questline. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to acquiring the Memento Lens and how to defeat the Mysterious Samurai.
Head to the abandoned shrine northeast of Konda Village to begin this mission.

Cleansing Defilement |
Description¶
According to Kazari, these barriers must be broken to cleanse the Thunder Sakura’s roots. The next barrier seems to be located in the abandoned shrine to the northeast of Konda Village. Although the place sounds quite unsettling indeed, this is Kazari’s request, so it is best that you see it done.
Acquire the Memento Lens / Obtain the Ward¶
Once you’ve completed A Strange Story in Konda, head to the abandoned shrine northeast of Konda village and speak with the three Mysterious Shadows several times until they are bunched up together near the three kitsune statues to trigger the Scroll to spawn in the center.

Travel to the Grand Narukami Shrine which is located north of Mt. Yougou and speak with Inagi Hotomi at the entrance to acquire the Memento Lens. Equip it from your gadget pouch and return to the abandoned shrine, then scan all of the smaller kitsune statues. Once you’re done, interact with the large kitsune statue which is located to the southeast of the area, then choose the following dialogue options:
- “In the name of Narukami’s envoy”
- “And of the Hakushin bloodline”
- “Bring forth the fried tofu”
Find and Destroy the Barrier / Defeat Mysterious Samurai¶
Head through the tunnel to the west of Chinju Forest to find the Barrier, then you’ll want to interact with the totems to display the correct number on top. This one is more simple compared to the first one, as you’ll only need to have each totem on the outer edge to display a three and the center one to display a two.

Once you’ve adjusted all the totems, interact with the one at the front to spawn in the boss, Mysterious Samurai. Like the boss, Ochimusha in the World Quest A Strange Story in Konda mission, the mysterious samurai has a similar three attacks.
Firstly, he has a simple downward slash, then he can sheathe his sword for a few seconds before launching into a spin attack which has a large reach. Finally, he’ll point his sword forward and dash towards you.
