How to complete Stage 2

By
Matt Chard

This page will guide you through completing Stage 2 “Autumnal Resplendence” of Theater Mechanicus: Stage of Wonders.

An image of the Autumnal Resplendence map.

Introduction

This stage gets a bit tougher due to the enemies coming from two portals. You’ll also get a ban, which will restrict you on what Wondrous Sticks you can use. For this stage it’ll either be Hydro and Anemo that are restricted or Hydro and Cryo. This will also change the enemies that appear in the stage. This is why we go full Pyro/Electro Mechanici, so we can ignore these Wondrous Stick bans, allowing us to buff our Mechanici with no problems.

Recommended Party

Characters What they offer

Strategy

Wave 1

Place four Electro, and four Pyro Mechanici on the panels nearest to the enemies portal.

Monster Types

Genshin Impact Screenshot Hilichurls

The enemies will come from both the purple portals in the west, and meet in the middle, when they’re on the top of the stairs. This is where we place our Mechanici army. Place one Electro in the middle, closest to the bottom of the stairs. Then you can place another in the middle panel directly behind it. You can place two Pyro Mechanic’s on the panels in front of that, on both sides. Then place another two Pyro’s behind the Electro Mechanici at the back. Finally, place one Electro in-between the two Pyro’s either side. This will be eight in total. Save your Veneficus Points for later waves.

Wave 1 Mechanici locations.

Wave 2

We add another two of the Pyro and Electro Mechanici behind the first eight.

Monster Types

Genshin Impact Screenshot Ice Shield Hilichurl Guards

This wave is a little tougher due to Hilichurls having shields, thankfully they’re Cryo as Pyro is a direct counter to it. For this wave, we place another four Mechanici. Place one Pyro and one Electro Mechanici on the panels around the hole, and place another two on the opposite side. Once again, save your Veneficus Points for the next wave.

Wave 3

The last two Mechanici will be two more Pyro, and they’ll be placed at the back, behind the Electro Mechanici either side.

Ice_Shieldwall_Mitachurl_Enemies_Genshin_Impact.png Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurls Fortune_Hydro_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png Fortune_Cryo_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png
Geo_Samachurl_Enemies_Genshin_Impact.png Dendro Samachurls (Fleet-Footed Trait) Fortune_Hydro_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png Fortune_Cryo_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png

Now it starts to get tough, Rock Shieldwall Mitachurls come into play, and Geo Samachurls are a bit more tankier, and have the Fleet-Footed trait, which gives them high movement speed. In terms of Mechanici, we finish off the last two we can place by placing two more Pyro Mechanic in front of the last two Electro Mechanici you place in the previous Wave. The only thing to worry about here, is that the odd Samachurl may get through, to counter this, use one of your Anemo characters to push/pull/throw them back into the mayhem. Because we have all the Mechanici placed, we can spend all our Veneficus Points on Wondrous Sticks.

For the Pyro Mechanici: Beacon (range), Wildfire (speed), and Embers (ATK up) are always great to upgrade. If Pyro Orb, Magma, and Inflammation show up, these will make it a lot easier. For the Electro Mechanic: Blitz (range), Thunderstrike (speed), and Thunderstorm (ATK up) are always great to use. Bombardier and Vengeance are the top two to keep an eye out for, with Jolt being very useful too. As you get more Veneficus Points throughout the Wave, keep upgrading your Mechanici.

Wave3 Mechanici locations. (left), Place one Pyro Mechanici either side of the Electro Mechanici. (right)

Wave 4

Because we have all our Mechanici placed, that means we have more time to buff the Mechanici.

Another tough wave, with both enemy types having the Fleet-Footed trait. Using your characters to slow them down will help, but providing you aren’t unlucky, the Mechanici should take them out. In terms of setup, everything is done, so keep upgrading your Mechanici with the Wondrous Sticks.

Wave 5

Once again, spend any points you have on buffing your Mechanici, Pyro Orb, and Vengeance are great sticks to have by now.

Monster Types

Icon Name Stick Bans
Pyro_Hilichurl_Shooter_Enemies_Genshin_Impact.png Hilichurl Berserkers (Fleet-Footed Trait) Fortune_Hydro_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png Fortune_Anemo_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png

Cryo_Samachurl_Enemies_Genshin_Impact.png Cryo Samachurl (Fleet-Footed Trait) Fortune_Hydro_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png Fortune_Cryo_Theater_Mechanicus_Genshin_Impact.png

For this last wave, you’ll be facing a tough combination. The Hydro Samachurls Curious Vitality Trait allows them to regenerate their allies’ health by 20% every 15 seconds, whilst the Stonehide Lawachurl has the Point Man Trait that allows it to taunt your Pyro Mechanic to focus on it every 10 seconds, and it has a second trait, Stonebreaker, that will destroy all nearby Geo Constructs (no Traveler/Zhongli cheese). Thankfully, our setup should be too much for them to handle, especially if you’re lucky enough to have the right Wondrous Sticks. The setup is done, so continue buffing up your Mechanici throughout the wave.
