This page will provide advice on finding Scarabs. Please note that this is one of the most difficult materials to gather in the game. Below we provide a map and tips on finding the resource.

Description¶
A tenacious beetle that finds repose within the vast ocean of desert sand. The golden pattern on such beetles’ shells hints at some deep relationship between them and the ancient ruins that dot the desert.
Use¶
Scarabs are an ascension material used to raise characters to level 90. You will need 168 Scarabs per character to do so.

How To Get¶
Nawaz is located above the spring in Aaru Village.

Found around and under the Sumeru desert.

If you are in battle, Scarabs will burrow underground. You will then need to wait until things calm for them to resurface.

They can blend in with the desert environment and are actively moving around the map. Look for small balls of sand moving across the desert and check under ledges for Scarabs that may be hiding.

Speak with Nawaz in Aaru Village to obtain four free Scarabs.

You will need to complete the** Golden Slumber** world quest before you are able to access most of the Scarabs in this area, as they are located underground. This quest can be obtained in Aaru village from Bonifaz.
Keep in mind that this is a moving resource that moves around on the map. The markers above show the general location of Scarabs. In total, you will be able to find 77 Scarabs per farming cycle. This cycle will reset every 48 real-world hours.
