How to complete The Exorcist’s Path¶

To begin this quest, go to the Quest menu, then go to the Story sub-menu and then go to the second page. This is where you will find all the Hangout Events in the future. Click on Chongyun and confirm, a popup will now appear and ask if you want to spend two story keys to unlock “Signs of Evil”, confirm that, and you’ll get the first quest. To earn Story Keys, you need to complete eight daily commissions.

What are daily commissions?¶

Daily commissions are the purple quest icon in-game. You get four every day, and they reward you with 250 Adventure EXP for each quest as well as a small amount of Primogems, after eight of these commissions are completed, you’ll receive a story key. The quests themselves are normally short, defeat enemy type quests.

Timeline¶

Use the Timeline to plan the path you want to take.

Go to Wanwen Bookhouse and identify the clues (On the Evil Spirits’ Trail)¶

Wanwen bookhouse can be found by teleporting to the upper Liyue Waypoint and heading southwest, up the red stairs. Approach the objective marker and you’ll get a scene.

Chongyun will say…Anyway, could you pick the one that seems most plausible and likely to be the work of evil spirits? This’ll give you the following three choices:

“Lurking in Liyue Harbor is a massive demon that was transformed from a popsicle.”¶

-2 hearts.

“At the foot of Mt. Qingce is a Violetgrass that has turned into a gigantic, man-eating monster.”¶

-2 hearts.

“There’s a ghostly shadow skulking about Feiyun Slope at night. It’s suspected to be a vengeful spirit.”¶

Pick this option here.

After you’ve picked your choice, Chongyun will then go on to say…And lastly, “It’s said that people often see a demon who loves eating chilis in Wanmin Restaurant.” You’ll get another three choices:

“Deep in the Sea of Clouds, a marauding demon has been raiding commercial fishing boats and building a luxurious palace.”¶

Pick this option here.

“In Jueyun Karst, there’s a piece of thousand-year-old amber that has gained consciousness and now roams about causing trouble.”¶

-2 hearts.

“It’s said that people often see a demon who loves eating chilis in Wanmin Restaurant.”¶

-2 hearts.

Finally you’ll get another three choices when Chongyun says…There is a vigilant demon adept at concealing itself in mist. Recently, people have found traces of it in Mingyun Village, Guili Plains, and Yaoguang Shoal.

“A strange man wearing a mask and wielding a pole was once seen in the distance around Guili Plains. There’s something eerie about his presence.”¶

-2 hearts.

“Someone saw an exorcist with blue hair who is actually a transformed demon.”¶

-2 hearts.

“There is a vigilant demon adept at concealing itself in mist. Recently, people have found traces of it in Mingyun Village, Guili Plains, and Yaoguang Shoal.”¶

Pick this option here.

As long as you have at least one heart with Chongyun, the Hangout Event will continue, otherwise it’ll end. He’ll mention the weather in Wuwang Hill has been abnormal and that you and him should check it out.

Go to the heretical ground mentioned in the clues (The Rumored Heretical Ground)¶

Teleport to the lower Wuwang Hill Waypoint and head north, into the wooded area and you’ll get a scene. Chongyun will talk about how nothing seems out of the ordinary, and then he’ll say that Since we’re already here, let’s go check the two locations mentioned in the clue.

Proceed deeper within to investigate¶

Go north, over the rocky ledges and interact with the Strange smoke, and you’ll get another scene. You’ll get a few choices, but they won’t change any outcome.

Proceed onward and search for more clues¶

Head northeast and interact with the Strange smoke again, and you’ll be attacked by a group of menacing Hilichurls encased in a dark aura, there’ll be three of them, but they shouldn’t cause you any trouble. Defeat them and you’ll get another scene and Chongyun will explain that the path ends here, but he still senses the evil spirits, and that he’ll still continue tracking them, but he doesn’t expect to find anything. After a bit more dialogue, the quest will end, rewarding you with Ending 1 - Blessing in Disguise.
