What is Welcome to Easy Mode?¶
This is the first challenge of the Contending Tides Event, you will compete in the Dadaupa Gorge’s Meaty Arena and face off against Hilichurls, most notably, Blazing Axe Mitachurls. This guide will help you pick a strong enough party to complete all challenges on the hardest difficulties, of which there are three available, Normal, Hard and Extreme.

Where is Dadaupa Gorge’s Meaty Arena?¶
You can teleport straight to the Arena by clicking on its icon.
Arena Effect¶
Time limits, the status of your teammates, tough enemies, all manner of challenges and goals… Such things aren’t good for your health, you know?
While fighting within an Aura, your characters’ ATK is greatly increased. Additionally, when characters with full stamina hit opponents while standing within auras, they will unleash intense shockwaves!
There will be an Aura within the arena. Characters within the Aura will obtain the following effects:
- ATK is increased by 100%.
- When attacks hit opponents, a shockwave will be released if your Stamina is above 50%, dealing AoE DMG. A shockwave of this kind can occur once every 3s.
Focus on the Blazing Axe Mitachurls whilst standing in the Aura.
Completion Criteria¶
Normal¶
- Defeat 15 opponents in 300 seconds.
- Defeat 2 Blazing Axe Mitachurls.
- No more than 2 character deaths during the challenge.
Hard¶
- Defeat 15 opponents in 180 seconds.
- Defeat 3 Blazing Axe Mitachurls.
- No more than 1 character death during the challenge.
Extreme¶
- Defeat 20 opponents in 180 seconds.
- Defeat 4 Blazing Axe Mitachurls.
- No character deaths during the challenge.

Strategy¶
Premium Team¶
Start the battle as Zhongli and use his Elemental Skill to give yourself a shield, this will negate a large portion of damage towards you. Try to stay in the circular Aura at all times, because this’ll buff your attacks by 100% as well as give you a shockwave on your attacks every 3 seconds providing you are above 50% stamina.
Change over to Ganyu and use her Elemental Skill to taunt the melee enemies into the Aura, focus on the Blazing Axe Mitachurls as they are part of the win conditions. Now switch between all the party members using their Elemental Skills and Bursts off cooldown whilst keeping your shield up with Zhongli. Ganyu’s charged attacks will deal most of your damage providing you built her for that.
Free to Play Team¶
Start the battle as Noelle and use her Elemental Skill to give yourself a shield, this will negate a large portion of damage towards you. Try to stay in the circular Aura at all times, because this’ll buff your attacks by 100% as well as give you a shockwave on your attacks every 3 seconds providing you are above 50% stamina.
Switch over to Chongyun and lay down his Elemental Skill to cover the Aura with Cryo and then hit a few of the enemies to put the Cryo effect on the enemies, change to Fischl and use her Elemental Skill to get Oz out who will periodically attack enemies with Electro, this’ll trigger the Superconduct effect which will deal small AOE Cryo damage and reduce the enemies physical resistance by 50.
Now switch to Bennett and use his skills off cooldown although you may want to save his Elemental Burst for healing. Alternate between all the characters to keep these effects up whilst also keeping your shield up from Noelle.
The Extreme difficulty requires you to defeat at least four Blazing Axe Mitachurls.
