Description¶

Katheryne of the Adventurers’ Guild in Liyue Harbor has a new commission for you. You and Paimon decide to find out what it’s all about.

Steps¶

1. Go to the Liyue Adventurers’ Guild and talk to Katheryne
2. Head to the dock and find the foreman, Uncle Dai
3. Look for Zhongli
4. Return to the dock and talk to Uncle Dai

Go to the Liyue Adventurers’ Guild and talk to Katheryne¶

This quest starts off with you needing to speak to Katheryne at the Adventurers’ Guild, teleport to the lower Liyue Harbor Waypoint, and head east to Katheryne. Talk to her, and Paimon will ask her if any new commissions are available, to which she answers… “As a matter of fact, there’s one that looks perfect for you two.” She’ll tell you that Uncle Dai, one of the foreman at Huishan Hall, has requested manpower to help search for his missing miners.

Head to the dock and find the foreman, Uncle Dai¶

Katheryne tells you that Uncle Dai can be found at the dock. Head northeast, and you’ll find Uncle Dai around the corner of the building. He notices straight away that you’re adventurers’ by the way that you’re dressed, then tells you that he’s waiting for his assistant who’s a rock expert, and the best in the business. Naturally, Paimon argues that your friend is the number one rock expert, and that you’ll go fetch him.

Look for Zhongli¶

The friend Paimon was talking about was Zhongli, and he can be found at the Third-Round Knockout Tavern, north of the lower Liyue Harbor Waypoint. Head over to him for a scene, and you’ll interrupt the story he was listening to from Iron-Tongue Tian. You’ll tell him you’ve accepted a commission, and you need an expert in geology and ore. “The requester claims to have enlisted Teyvat’s number one rock expert, but Paimon doesn’t believe a word of it. Nobody understands rocks better than you!” Paimon exclaimed. Needless to say, Zhongli agrees to help you but modestly informs you that although an expert, he is hardly the leading authority. Happy with herself, Paimon tells you to head back to Uncle Dai.

Return to the dock and talk to Uncle Dai¶

Head back to Uncle Dai with your new expert, and Paimon boasts to him about your rock expert. After some pleasantries, Uncle Dai will introduce his rock expert, Kun Jun. Kun Jun appears to recognize Zhongli but he no has recollection from where. Once again, Paimon and her competitive nature demands Uncle Dai to test them to find out who’s the best. Uncle Dai tells you he has no idea where to start, and Paimon suggest they test each other.

You find out a bit more about Kun Jun, then he pulls a rock from within his pocket, and asks Zhongli what he makes of it. Zhongli tells him exactly what it is, and leaves Kun Jun extremely impressed with his knowledge. They talk a bit more about the rock, and Uncle Dai agrees to hire both of them. After the scene, the quest ends, and the second quest starts immediately.
