This is a walkthrough for the Archon Quest “The Crux Clash” which is the second quest in Chapter 2 - Prologue: Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves. You’ll find the quest rewards as well as directions on how to complete the quest.

After meeting some of the contestants, you reckon that this will be a milk run. Still, your ticket to Inazuma is at stake here. Best not to let your guard down during the tournament. After witnessing Rongshi’s abilities in the semi-finals, you decide that some preparation is in order before the final. After speaking with Beidou and Kazuha, Kazuha invites you to join him elsewhere in Guyun Stone Forest for some additional instruction.

1. Talk to Zhuhan, who is in charge of registration for The Crux Clash
2. Talk to Beidou and Kazuha
3. Talk to Zhuhan again and enter the next round
4. Win the semi-finals
5. Ask around for info about your final opponent
6. Continue asking around for more info about your final opponent
7. Ask Beidou and Kazuha about your final opponent
8. Follow Kazuha to a more peaceful location
9. Talk to Kazuha
10. Defeat the monsters to show Kazuha your elemental abilities
11. Talk to Kazuha

Talk to Zhuhan, who is in charge of registration for The Crux Clash¶

This quest starts immediately after finishing A Path Through the Storm, you’ll be in the arena against your first victim, the “Almost Perfect” Jinyou, in these fights, you won’t have access to any of your Elemental abilities or party members, so you’ll only have normal and charged attacks to defeat them. Jinyou is far from perfect and fights like a Treasure Hoarder Scout, although that doesn’t matter as he’ll go down in a few sword swipes anyway. Put him out of his misery, and end the fight quickly.

Although Jinyou likes to tell himself he’s almost perfect, he’s anything but.

Talk to Beidou and Kazuha¶

After the fight ends, head over to Beidou who can be found at the edge of the arena, and talk to her. She seems happy with her choice making you the favourite, and then she’ll ask Kazuha if he has any words of wisdom. He’ll agree that it was impressive and how he noticed your restraint in causing any serious harm. Finally, his words of wisdom come out, and he tells you….“you fought well”. Beidou tells you that now she’s seen your abilities first hand, she’ll put you straight through to the semi-finals.

Talk to Zhuhan again and enter the next round¶

Heal up if needed, and head over to Zhuhan to start the next round, the semi-finals!

Win the semi-finals¶

Your next opponent is Rongshi, who has similar moves to the Treasure Hunter Pugilists. This fight is a little tougher than your previous encounter, but nothing that will cause you any trouble. Start the battle using 2-3 hit combos, and then dodge when he leans forward to avoid his strongest attacks, repeat this to win the fight. Heal if your health gets low, and throw in a few charged attacks to take him down quicker. After the battle, you’ll get a scene with Rongshi, and you’ll find out a bit about him, and his reasoning for being in the tournament.

Rongshi is a tougher test, but not by much, his attacks can deal a bit of damage, but he isn’t too tough providing you dodge his attacks.

Ask around for info about your final opponent¶

Once the scene ends, head over to the eastern edge of the arena and speak to Uncle Yun, he’ll tell you how he was defeated by your opponent, and how he is extremely nimble.

Follow the arena southwest and speak to Liang, Paimon will ask what happened to his companion, and he’ll explain how Chai Yi tried to perfect the technique they explained to you earlier, and he took a fist to his nose that knocked him straight out, because Liang had to deal with Chai Yi, he missed his fight, and was disqualified.

Ask Beidou and Kazuha about your final opponent¶

Head back over to Beidou and Kazuha, and talk to them about the other finalist, Kazuha will give you some praise about your last fight and Beidou will tell you that you’ll be facing someone whos best attributes are their speed, they have perfect form, and they’ve seen their fair share of battles which makes them experienced. Kazuha will then tell you that he needs to speak with you privately.

Follow Kazuha to a more peaceful location¶

Teleport to the Domain of Guyun and head northwest, Kazuha will be waiting for you on the beach.

Talk to Kazuha¶

Speak to him, and he’ll ask you a few questions about your ability to manipulate multiple elements without a Vision. After a few more questions, he’ll ask to test your skills, and you’ll get information from him as a reward.

Defeat the monsters to show Kazuha your elemental abilities¶

For this test, you’ll have two waves of fights, the first wave will have two Pyro Slimes and one Large Pyro Slime. You can use your party members here, so switch over to a Cryo or a Hydro user and take them out. The second wave will be more varied, you’ll face one Mutant Electro Slime, one Large Electro Slime, one Large Cryo Slime and finally, one Large Hydro Slime. Switch between party members that exploit their weakness.

Once you’ve dealt with both waves, head back to Kazuha and talk to him.

Talk to Kazuha¶

Kazuha will be impressed with your display, and as promised, he’ll disclose some information about the Shogun God and Inazuma. Once the scene ends, agree to go back with him, and you’ll end up back at the arena, with the quest ending.
