Description

The ground at the bottom of The Chasm suddenly collapsed, causing everyone to fall in. As it turns out, there is an unknown space further below, and everyone works together to investigate…

Steps

  1. Enter the Domain
  2. Chamber of Twisted Cranes Domain
  3. Talk to everyone (0/3)

Enter the Domain

This quest starts straight after The Unexpected Guest. Head over to the portal to start the story Domain “Chamber of Twisted Cranes”.

When you interact with the menu, you’ll have to choose your party. There isn’t anything too hard to worry about in there, but the game does suggest bringing along a hydro character, and there are Pyro Slimes in the Domain, so you may want to bring one along. When you have your party setup sorted, start the Domain, and you’ll be transported into an area which is similar to the Adepti Domains.

Make sure you bring a Hydro and/or a Cryo character as you will face a lot of Pyro enemies.

Chamber of Twisted Cranes Domain

As soon as you enter the area, interact with the device to the east, and the platform opposite you will rotate, and eventually connect the two platforms together. After they’re connected, head down the stairs onto the next platform. This will activate the Door of Resurrection, and some enemies will spawn when you get near the center.

By now you will have dealt with hundreds of these so switch over to a Hydro or Cryo character, and take them out. With the Slimes defeated, the device will unlock and be accessible. Head over and interact with it to start rotating the connected floor. This will rotate it vertically, and flip the floor upside down. Go up the stairs to the next platform, and head straight down the stairs to the east. You’ll have to defeat some more enemies here which will be the following:

Interact with the devices to rotate the floors.

Nothing special to deal with here, just a few Hilichurls and a Mitachurl. Once again, take them out, and unlock the Exquisite Chest. Now you can interact with the unlocked device which’ll allow you to begin rotating the connected platform. This one requires some thought, and you’ll need to rotate the connected platform three times. You’ll know you have it in its right position as you’ll see a locked device underneath the platform. Head over to the now connected platform, and proceed down the stairs to the south on to the next platform. There will be another device here that is already unlocked. Interact with it to rotate the previous platform vertically, and head back up the stairs. You’ll have some more enemies to defeat here which are as follows:

(1 of 2) Some floors can only be rotated horizontally

Some floors can only be rotated horizontally (left), whilst some floors can be rotated upside down! (right)

Once again, nothing here that should trouble you although the Large Pyro Slimes will spawn a bit later. When they’re defeated, interact with the device, and rotate it once, then head up the stairs. The final fight of the area will be against the following:

Finally, a bit of a challenge. These can be quite tough if you haven’t fought a lot of these. The best way to deal with them is by keeping a shield up at all times because if the Geovishap does a charge attack at you whilst you’re shielded, it’ll briefly stun itself. This gives you ample time to deal a lot of damage to it without the fear of taking any yourself. Another great trick is to keep them permanently frozen by utilizing both your Hydro and Cryo characters skills.

Talk to everyone (0/3)

When you have them defeated, open the Precious Chest, and exit the Domain for a scene. It appears that the Domain has led you to the same place, although the entire group was pretty sure they didn’t go back on themselves. Arataki seems to recall a story regarding the Oni “bake-danuki” who played a trick on a merchant which left the merchant running around in circles the entire night. This is what he thinks may be going on here, and he summons his sidekick “Ushi”, a bull-like creature.

Ushi is another member of the Arataki gang.

He tells Ushi to scour the area to look for an exit, or anything else that may be causing the situation that they’re in, but after a while, Ushi comes back with nothing, telling Arataki that there isn’t one. Yanfei will mention that although the area looks exactly the same, the ground above them is covered unlike the original area they fell into. Paimon and Arataki begin to tease each other about being scared, and Yelan will come back from the search with no good news either. Kuki will begin cooking some Lavender Melons for the group whilst the group starts preparing for the worst. Paimon has one more idea, and that is if you recite Xiao’s name, it should get him to come here, but that doesn’t have the required effect which worries them even more. After speaking with Yanfei, Arataki, and Yelan, Kuki will let them know that the Lavender Melons are cooked, and you’ll all have a bite to eat with the quest ending shortly after.
