How to Get the Master Sword

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to get the Master Sword, found in Korok Forest.

The Master Sword

The Hero’s Sword

The Master Sword is found in Korok Forest and is only obtainable once you have a certain amount of heart containers. To reach Korok Forest, you’ll first need to complete the Lost Woods journey. Then, the Master Sword is found in a stone near the Great Deku Tree.

In order to draw the Master Sword you need 13 Hearts, which means you need to collect 10 extra heart containers on top of the 3 you begin with. To obtain heart containers you’ll need to collect Spirit Orbs, which are earned after completing Shrines and Divine Beast trials. You earn one Spirit Orb each shrine and four each Divine Beast. Every four Spirit Orbs can be traded in at Prayer Altars, which are found across Hyrule, with an easily accessible one found at Kakariko Village, just near the entrance into Impa’s building. This means you’ll need to do 40 shrines, or 24 shrines and the 4 Divine Beasts before you can draw the sword. There are 120 shrines, meaning finding shrines is a pretty easy task.
