How to Start Ex Champion Daruk's Song

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

To start Ex Champion Daruk’s Song, you’ll first need to have completed the One-Hit Obliterator Trials. For more information on how to start and complete the trials, head over to our guide.

Once you’ve completed the One-hit Obliterator quest you’ll have access to Ex Champion Daruk’s Song

Find the Lanayru Monument

Once you’ve completed the Obliterator Trials, you’ll be tasked with finding the four new mysterious monuments, one of which is found in the Eldin Region, southwest of Goron City.

Approaching the monument will trigger a cut scene.

After the cutscene, you can speak to Kass who will reveal that he’s writing a song about the trials that Daruk overcame. He offers up some clues about the whereabouts of the shrines:

One, stop a titan of molten stone
Two, follow rings of light alone
Three, survive lava’s fiery fate

Kass will also suggest speaking to Bludo and Yunobo, which can be found around Goron City. They don’t offer that much help regarding the whereabouts of the shrines, but they do offer some nice Daruk lore. Bludo mentions Daruk’s Boulder Breaker, which is the weapon you’re given after defeating Divine Beast Vah Rudania for the first time. If you’ve already broken it you can replace it by talking to Rohan who will offer to craft him a new one in exchange for a Cobble Crusher, five pieces of Flint, and a Diamond. The weapon would be very handy in the first shrine’s trial but it isn’t 100% necessary.

Perhaps you’d like to grab Daruk’s Boulder Breaker?
