How to Complete Kuh Takkar: Melting Ice Hazard

This shrine is all about keeping a small ice cube from melting, all whilst having to navigate fire jets to get to the top of the shrine! During the first part of the route, you’ll just need to walk around some fire jets shooting from the floor - simple stuff! You’ll then need to carry the ice past a spinning fire jet, but as long as you time it well you won’t have any issue.

Watch out for the flames!

During the next section, you’ll need to get the ice from one side of a line of constant horizontal fire jets to the other. You can do this in a few different ways, but one thing you definitely cannot do is carry it above your head. The easiest way to do so is to perform Stasis on the ice cube and hit it a couple of times so that it goes flying under the jets. You’ll be able to run under the jets no problem and pick up the ice cube on the other side.

Next, you’ll need to hop over a small river of lava, by walking over the metal block. Now, place the ice cube on the ground and use magnesis to lift the metal cube out of the lava. Move the metal cube over and block the fire jets up ahead. You’ll then be able to pass to the left of the metal cube unharmed with your ice cube.

(1 of 2) Use stasis to freeze the ice cube and hit so it slides beneath the fire jets.

How to Get the Kuh Takkar Treasure

Before we continue along the path up to the end of the shrine, place down your ice cube and use magnesis to pick up the metal cube again and place it on the fire jets to the left of the ones you just passed through. You can then paraglide down onto the cube and loot the chest below for a Frostblade.

You can then hop up to where you were on the route via a ladder and you can bring the metal cube back up with magnesis - you’ll need it again in just a moment!

Use the metal cube to make a gap in the fire jets so you can grab the treasure!

During the next part of the route, you’ll need to use a combination of stasis and magnesis to get the ice cube through the vertical fire jets. First you’ll want to align the metal cube underneath a few of the fire jets. Then, perform stasis on the ice cube and hit it a couple of times very quickly and before stasis runs out, lift the metal cube up to create a small pathway underneath the flames. When stasis runs out the ice cube will fly beneath the metal cube, unharmed by the flames, so long as you time it correctly and angle it well.

To get yourself under the flames, you’ll need to use magnesis and place the metal cube directly above yourself and walk slowly beneath the fire jets. And finally, pick up the ice cube and take it up to the end of the shrine and claim your Spirit Orb!
