★★★★★★★☆☆☆ | Black Hinox x1 |
This is the second boss floor; fittingly (but annoyingly), you’ll be fighting a Black Hinox in a near pitch-black room. Near the edges of the room, there are a few ruined buildings that you can use as temporary hiding spots.
Strategy¶
On the surface, this is probably the most intimidating floor of the Middle Trials. However, with the right preparations and a level head, it’s not really that bad. After entering, the Hinox will be in front of you, near the center of the room. Slowly approach it, while readying the Stasis rune.
As soon as you’re ready (or if the Hinox wakes up), use Stasis on the Hinox, then run in and whack it with your strongest weapon. This will probably be the Dragonbone Boko Bat or Club from Floor 8. Once the Hinox begins to stand up, move back. If you’re confident, stand your guard and shoot arrows at its eye to stun it, so you can whack it again.
Otherwise, or whenever you’re in a pinch, run towards one of the stairs of the ruined buildings, illuminated by a flame-lit torch. When you’re upstairs, you can hide behind a wall with an open window and shoot arrows from there. After the Stasis rune has recharged, you can re-apply Stasis on the Hinox so you can more easily shoot its eye.
