Here is the general map of the area (left), This little rectangle here is where you need to go (right)
You will find a mountain cabin on Daval Peak and if you read the journal you will discover that there evidently is some sort of secret Shrine in the area. After reading the journal, you can walk straight forward a bit and you will see a pedestal jutting out at an angle from the mountain slope.
(1 of 2) The pedestal is sitting here
The pedestal is sitting here (left), Hold a snowball about this big and match up its shadow to the inner circle on the pedestal while it glows (right)
The solution to the puzzle takes the term “cold shadow” literally. As the sun sets on the pedestal, you need to pick up a huge snowball and let its (cold) shadow blot out the pedestal. To make a snowball big enough, find a snowball around the area and roll it down a hill. It might take some trial and error to decide where exactly you need to stand. If you roll from too high up, the snowball will become so big you cannot even pick it up.
(1 of 2) Once its perfectly matched up as you see here, the glow will change to blue
Once its perfectly matched up as you see here, the glow will change to blue (left), The Shrine will rise from the ground (right)
The pedestal will start to glow as early as around 4 PM in the afternoon. You want your snowball’s shadow to hit right in the middle of the pedestal, where you can see a small bull’s-eye sort of circle. Then the pedestal will turn blue and Suma Sahma Shrine will rise from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest.
