Fireblight Ganon has a big scary sword, but it’s not a problem if you attack from afar. (left), Unlike other bosses, you need to stun Ganon twice in quick succession to drop him to the ground. (right)

In this page, we’ll show you the easiest way to deal with Fireblight Ganon in Master Mode.

General Tips

To make the fight less of a hassle, we highly recommend having a Level 3 Attack buff. This can be from eating a meal or donning the Phantom armor set, for instance. The faster you can deal more damage, the less of an impact the health regeneration will have.

If you’re not in a hurry, we also suggest bringing the Master Sword with you. This sacred weapon deals 60 damage and has boosted durability against Blight bosses. You need a minimum of 13 (natural) hearts to draw the sword; so you must complete 40 shrines (assuming no Divine Beasts).

Preparations

Besides the above, you don’t really need much. Ice Arrows would be extremely useful though. There are two chests containing 10 Ice Arrows each at the Abandoned North Mine, when you went to rescue Yunobo. You can also find some Ice Arrows inside Vah Rudania, before the fight.

Strategy

This Ganon is also susceptible to arrows, especially Ice Arrows, although there’s a catch. When you shoot Fireblight Ganon in the eye, he’ll become stunned, but he’ll annoyingly hover in mid-air, out of range of melee weapons. Left like that, it’s a waste of time since Ganon will just regenerate health.

When Ganon’s stunned, lob a bomb at him or shoot him in the eye again. Doing so will stun him again, while knocking him to the ground. At which point you can whale on the sucker. Note that since Ganon’s facing up while stunned in mid-air, you need to arc your arrow slightly higher than Ganon to hit his eye.

With that knowledge, the rest of the fight should be manageable. For the intermediate shield phase, remember to throw a bomb and let it get sucked towards Ganon before detonating it. Then for the final phase, continue to lay on the pressure with your arrows.
