Floor 5 is a rest area, where you can gather additional supplies and cook some meals for yourself. Unlike the Beginning Trials, there are two rest areas–the next one is at Floor 11.

Strategy

Although there are no enemies here or any danger of dying, what you do on this floor could be very important for the future. Firstly, slowly approach the Fairy on the right and grab it. If you lose all your hearts, the Fairy will resurrect you once, giving you a safety net.

(1 of 2) Clothes? What madness is this!?

Clothes? What madness is this!? (left), In any case, don’t neglect to actually equip the trousers. (right)

Next, pilfer the chests on the right for a Knight’s Broadsword, Hylian Trousers (put these on ASAP so you’re not so naked) and a Falcon Bow. Then go around the room grabbing everything that looks useful. This includes the two apples on the tree on the left, the Hylian Bass in the pond near the fire and the mushrooms in the same area.

It’s not necessary right now, but you could cut down/blow up the trees until a Korok Leaf drops. This’ll be useful during the final third, but there’s a second rest area before that where you can get one instead (if you want to save inventory space). Also, it might be useful to grab the Torch near the fire.

(1 of 2) Cook all your meat first…

Cook all your meat first… (left), Since meat provides the most health recovery. (right)

For your final task, approach the camp fire and begin cooking some meals. If you followed our advice and entered with an Attack buff, avoid cooking any meals with a buff or you’ll overwrite the Attack buff. If you have any ingredients that grant a buff, cook them together with an ingredient with a different buff to create a meal with no buffs.

(Just in case, if you have any ingredients with an Attack or Defense buff, don’t cook them yet, unless you’ve miraculously obtained four. Also, the above suggestion doesn’t apply for ingredients that provide a heart or stamina-increasing buff, because it can stack.)
