Underground Floor 1

(1 of 2) This is a nice, easy floor to get you started, but don’t be careless!

Difficulty Monsters
★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Bokoblin x3

This is the very first floor, where you’ll need to start relearning how to play the game with minimal gear.

In the Beginning Trials, each floor is a giant square surrounded by unclimbable walls, much like the Shrine of Trials. Unlike the shrines, a wider variety of environments and objects await, such as trees and enemy encampments.

On this particular floor, there are a bunch of trees dotted around. Further ahead, there are three Bokoblins watching over a campfire. Your task, which will be the same for subsequent floors, is to kill all the enemies before they kill you.

Strategy

(1 of 2) Climb up this tree near the camp. The Bokoblins should be too busy dancing to notice you.

Climb up this tree near the camp. The Bokoblins should be too busy dancing to notice you. (left), At the top of the tree, grab the two Bird Eggs. (right)

To begin with, there’s a Tree Branch lying next to the tree ahead and to the right of the entrance. It’s hardly the best weapon, but it’s better than nothing (which is what you have right now). Slowly go forward to find another Tree Branch.

At this point, if the Bokoblin haven’t noticed you, carefully climb up the nearby tree that’s in front of the camp. At the top of this tree are some Bird Eggs. After grabbing the eggs, throw a bomb down and detonate it when the Bokoblin check it out. If you’re lucky, you can take out all three at once–otherwise throw more bombs.

(1 of 2) Atop the tree, throw a bomb into the middle of the camp.

Atop the tree, throw a bomb into the middle of the camp. (left), Don’t worry if you miss. The Bokoblin are quite thick and shouldn’t see you. (right)

If you’re not good with heights, you could just roll a round bomb towards the Bokoblins from the ground. There’s a good chance they’ll spot you, but there’s a similarly good chance they’ll run into the path of the bomb.

In the event that the Bokoblin have spotted you and you’re not ready to blow them up, beware that they’ll torch their weapons using the campfire, boosting their damage. Avoid fighting the Bokoblins face-on; run and drop bombs behind you instead.

Once you’ve dealt with the Bokoblins, the exit panel will glow. Before using it, grab the Seared Steak from the campfire and blow up the crates and barrels nearby, then collect their scattered contents. Also, pick up the weapons and shield used by the Bokoblins–these will fare better than your tree branches!
