The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Underground Floor 3

By
Vincent Lau

(1 of 2) Welcome to floor 3 of 13.

Welcome to floor 3 of 13. (left), There’s not much here, besides your wobbly opponents. (right)

Difficulty Monsters
★★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Chuchu x1, Fire Chuchu x8

This is the third floor of the Beginning Trials. It’s very straightforward, but don’t neglect to pay attention!

The floor itself is mostly empty, with a few trees near the walls. is As you approach the center of the floor, a single Chuchu will spawn. After defeating it, 4 Fire Chuchus will spawn. Then once those are gone, 4 large ones will spawn.

Strategy

(1 of 2) After killing the initial Chuchu, four Fire Chuchu will spawn.

After killing the initial Chuchu, four Fire Chuchu will spawn. (left), If you throw your bombs just right, you can blow up multiple at once. (right)

There’s no need to get your hands dirty for this: simply keep lobbing bombs at the Chuchus to blow them up. The Chuchus are fairly slow, so you shouldn’t have any problems. Remember to keep clear of your bombs before exploding them though!

Besides, when the Fire Chuchus spawn, you’ll also want to keep your distance, because they’ll ignite their surroundings upon death. (Although you should know that from dealing with the Fire Chuchu on the previous floor.)

For your information, the first set of Fire Chuchu will spawn in a diamond pattern around the center. Meanwhile, the second set of Fire Chuchu will spawn in a square pattern.

(1 of 4) Lure a Fire Chuchu near a wooden platform, then ride the updraft from the burning grass.

Before you kill all the Chuchus though, there are two treasure chests located on elevated wooden platforms–one behind you when you enter the floor, containing a Boomerang, and another at the far end, which contains Fire Arrows x5.

Due to the height, the only way to reach these chests is by gliding up the updrafts from the burning grass, caused by the Fire Chuchus. If you missed your chance to get them (or you’re too lazy), no big deal.
