Walkthrough for the Ranger Cabin area in Fallout 4.

The Ranger Cabin can be found to the south, southeast of Sanctuary, just go south from Sanctuary and look for a house icon on your compass, it’ll be hard to miss.

The Ranger Cabin.

Atop a hill overlooking the swamp south of Sanctuary you’ll find the Ranger Cabin, outside of which several Bloatflies lurk. Swat the pests, then enter the cabin to find a Wasteland Survival Guide (+5% damage reduction against melee attacks, nice) and the “Runaway’s Holotape” in a suitcase. You can also find a Chemistry Station out back if you need to make use of it.

All in all, the Ranger Cabin is a pretty small, uneventful, but lucrative area due to the Wasteland Survival Guide found here. Under an electrical tower to the northwest you can find a Raider camp (several non-scaling Raiders prowl around here), while Abernathy Farm can be found under an electrical tower to the east, southeast. To the south, southeast you’ll find the Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup area, which should be visible from the Ranger Cabin.
