Fallout 4

All Enclave Encampment and Manual Locations

By
Nathan Garvin

Much of the Creation Club content added to Fallout 4 via its next gen update is focused around the Enclave, with the new quest Echoes of the Past serving as something of a hub for all this Enclave-related content. Some of the more interesting Enclave-related additions, however, aren’t directly part of any quests, namely the three Enclave Encampments that can be found scattered throughout the Commonwealth. Sacking these camps will score you some sweet Enclave gear, of course, but you can also find an Enclave Entrenchment Manual at each base, which will unlock new building and customization options, who doesn’t love Enclave-themed goodies? This page will cover the locations of each Enclave Encampment in Fallout 4 and the Enclave Entrenchment Manual within each one.

(1 of 2) During the quest “Echoes of the Past” you’ll need to use an Enclave CO’s Terminal, on which you’ll find data revealing the locations of three Enclave Encampments.

How to Find the Enclave Encampments

While technically not part of any quest, these Enclave Encampments are all quest-adjacent in that they’re mentioned in the quest Echoes of the Past. In fact, these Enclave Encampment won’t even appear in the Commonwealth until you’ve completed the aforementioned quest, during which you’ll need to access an Enclave CO’s Terminal. While peeking at the Enclave’s secrets, pick the entry [Encampment Distribution] and you’ll be able to select each of the three listed encampments to learn their rough locations, as follows:

Doing this will also mark the encampment’s location on the map, which should obviously make it much easier to find them (they’re marked by star icons, like most military installations). Once that’s done, it’s time to plunder… at your leisure, of course.

(1 of 2) The Western Enclave Encampment is located southwest of Dark Hollow Pond.

Western Enclave Encampment

By virtue of being closest to Sanctuary, this should be the easiest of the three encampments to hit. You’ll find it southwest of Dark Hollow Pond, east of Wildwood Cemetery. These encampments are, as a rule, fairly small - this one’s little more than a ring of barricades on a rocky outcropping. Defeat the Enclave Soldiers within (there will likely be two of three of them, with at least one in Power Armor) and their little turret, too. Once the place has been pacified you can get to looting, and there are plenty of Enclave crates to plunder. As nice as this all is, the real prize is the Enclave Entrenchment Manual on the table next to the “Enclave Field Operations Terminal”, which doesn’t really say anything terribly new or interesting. This manual, on the other hand, will “unlock the Enclave paint job for your Power Armor” and will allow you to “build the Enclave flag and Enclave crate at settlement workshops”.

(1 of 2) The Eastern Enclave Encampment is located east of Parson’s State Insane Asylum, but it’s closer to the Coastal Cottage Settlement.

Eastern Enclave Encampment

The Eastern Enclave Encampment is further afield, but it’s also right next to (southwest of) the Coastal Cottage settlement, so if you already have that place under your control, it’s an excellent staging point for a raid on the Enclave Encampment in quest. Like in the west, expect two or three Enclave Soldiers (likely with at least one in Power Armor) and the odd Laser Turret, and once they’ve been eradicated you can loot their camp. Once again, search near the terminal to find another Enclave Entrenchment Manual, which in this case teaches you how to “build the Enclave Laser Turret and Enclave Com Tower at settlement workshops”.

(1 of 2) The Southern Enclave Encampment can be found south of Galaxy News Network, aka Gunner’s Plaza.

Southern Enclave Encampment

The most out of the way of the three encampments, this one can be found south of “Galaxy News Network”, better known now as Gunner’s Plaza. If spawning in near a bunch of hostile Gunners doesn’t appeal to you, you can also fast travel to Somerville Place or the Murkwater Construction Site, which is northwest and east, northeast of this Enclave Camp, respectively. Whichever route you take, you’ll find this camp is very similar to the others - we had the pleasure of fighting two Enclave Soldiers in Power Armor and a Laser Turret, but your mileage may vary. Dispatch your foes and search near the terminal to find a third Enclave Entrenchment Manual, which will teach you how to “build Enclave barricades at settlement workshops”. For a tiny bit of local flavor, the Enclave Soldiers here had also managed to bag a Mirelurk, which you can free from its confines via the terminal… but it’s pretty ungrateful, so you might not want to bother.

In any event, you now have all three Enclave Entrenchment Manuals and can add a touch of Enclave fascism to your settlements if you have the taste. If you disable all the Enclave Communications Towers, the Enclave should stop respawning at these camps, but if you wish to farm their gear, by all means leave the towers on.
