Weathervane

By

Information about the various Weathervane radiant quests in Fallout 4.

Weathervane is a series of radiant quests given to you by Tinker Tom, which task you with traveling to a random area and installing a MILA device somewhere elevated. The target locations for the various Weathervane quests will be referenced in the specific iterations of the quest as assigned; Weathervane: Corvega Assembly Plant, for example, tasks you with setting up a MILA device at the Corvega Assembly Plant.

(1 of 2) Tinker Tom will, after you join the Railroad, entrust you with a flavor of his paranoia via the Weathervane quests.

Tinker Tom will, after you join the Railroad, entrust you with a flavor of his paranoia via the Weathervane quests. (left), Take MILA to the designated location and install it where directed - always someplace elevated. (right)

Some known locations that will be selected for Weathervane quests include:

To start this questline you must join the Railroad by completing the quests Road to Freedom, Tradecraft, then follow up with Boston After Dark. Tinker Tom should start offering these quests at this point.

Given the fact that your target locations for each Weathervane quest will vary, the enemies you’ll have to face during each quest will as well. Technically speaking you don’t have to fight anything - you just have to reach the designated MILA installation site and place the machine there. If you can do this without violence, so be it, but you’ll likely end up fighting given the fact that most of these locations aren’t really designed for stealth. Something like the Corvega Assembly Plant will be relatively tame, infested with low-level Raiders, while [Hub 360] is deep within Boston, which is densely populated by leveled foes (in this case, likely Super Mutants).

Set up MILA and return to Tinker Tom for a reward. He’ll offer these periodically as you progress through the Railroad questline. Travel away and rest for a day and he might have a new Weathervane quest for you, and if not, progress through the Railroad questline.
