This quest begins immediately after Courting the Kings. After extracting the truth from King Niall and King Domnall, it’s time to report to Flann at Clogher.
When you arrive at the tent in Clogher, a cutscene will play during which Flann is resistant to the advice from Barid and Eivor. As the dispute escalates, Abbot Eogan’s army arrives. You’ll need to defend the village and eliminate all the attacking forces.
Defend Clogher and Survive Eogan’s Attack¶
The bulk of the forces attacking Clogher consist of regular troops which can be easily defeated. The first wave is almost entirely melee troops, with one Standard Bearer. These are slow opponents, but they can inflict a significant amount of damage if you get caught by one of their piercing attacks. They also have the ability to throw bombs, but you can interrupt these with a well timed ranged attack. The Standard Bearer will sometimes heal or revive their allies, so you might want to take them out first to prevent this from happening.
After you’ve dealt with the first wave, another attack will be launched from the southwest. This will again consist mostly of melee troops, but there’s also a small group of archers that you’ll need to take out. You’ll see these positioned on the small hill behind the melee troops. Kill them as soon as possible and then finish off the melee troops. Once you’ve defeated the archers, Barid will break off to fight elsewhere, and you’ll be left to defend Flann and Ciara at the barricades to the east. Here you’ll find the largest concentration of troops, but you’ll have enough support to make the fight fairly easy.
Once you’ve defeated enough enemies to cause them to flee, a cutscene will begin and the fight will be over. You now need to follow Ciara to Barid’s location to the west. A cutscene will begin once you reach him and the quest will end after it.
