At the end of Farewells and Legacies, you’ll have to decide who should be the new jarl of Snotinghamscire between Vili or Trygve. Your choice will decide whether Vili will join your crew or not, so read on carefully.

“I see a jarl in you.”¶

This will make Vili the new jarl of Snotinghamscire. You will gain an alliance with Snotinghamscire, but Vili won’t be able to join your longship crew.

“I see Trygve as jarl, and you with me.”¶

This choice means that you still gain an alliance with Snotinghamscire, but you can also recruit Vili to your longship crew. You don’t lose anything by selecting Trygve, so we recommend you do so.
