Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Hunter of Beasts

By
Scott Peers
&
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This quest begins immediately after The Hunting Grounds. Now that you’ve located Olav and you have a lead on the location of Gorm Kjotvesson, it’s time to pursue that lead. You can make this quest very short if you don’t want to acquire all the armor and weapons available from the local traders. If you do, you should check the Wealth and Materials Locations page. This details the location of all the wealth and materials that you will need to trade for everything that the locals have to offer.

Find and Kill Gorm Kjotvesson

If all you want to do is find and kill Gorm Kjotvesson, you can skip most of the camps mentioned in the Wealth and Materials Locations section and head immediately for Narfljot Camp. Here you will Gorm and a great number of his warriors. All you need to do is kill him and confirm the kill, but you might as well kill everyone here if you’re willing and able, for the extra XP and loot.

Alongside Gorm you’ll find numerous regular warriors in the form of archers, dual-wielders, and shield-bearers. He will also be accompanied by two Skull-Crushers and a Woe-Bringer. The regular warriors will be easy enough to bring down with a few basic hits, but the Skull-Crushers and Woe-Bringer might pose more of a threat alongside Gorm. You can parry most of the attacks from both of these opponents, but when all three are attacking you, it may not be the best option. Try dodging and quickly retaliating with a few blows from the club. The advantage of having no armor, or even if you have all the native armor from the local traders, is that you will probably be swifter than usual.

(1 of 5) Narfljot Camp is in the northwest of Vinland.

The fight with Gorm alone will be relatively easy, as he behaves in almost exactly the same way as a regular Woe-Bringer, with a few more sweeping cuts in his arsenal. These can be easily avoided and Gorm won’t have any surprising special attacks. As usual, you can parry the yellow attacks, but you’ll need to dodge or roll out of the way from red rune aura attacks. If things get a bit out of hand as you’re trying to fight Gorm with multiple enemies attacking at the same time, make use of the surrounding environment by climbing on tents to escape melee and switch to your bow for a while. In truth, this is a relatively standard camp fight and will only be potentially challenging if you enter it with no armor.

When you’ve confirmed the kill on Gorm a cutscene will play, after which the quest will complete.
