Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

All Weapons and Armor

By
Scott Peers

This page details a guide for where to find all of the unique weapons and armor in Vangrinn, Svartalfheim, part of the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC in AC Valhalla. We’ll cover the Dwarven Blacksmith Armor, Dwarven Blacksmith Breeches, Dwarven Blacksmith Helmet, and the Fenrir Incisor Dagger.

Dwarven Blacksmith Armor - Hreidmar’s Groft

The Dwarven Blacksmith Armor piece can be found at Hreidmar’s Groft, a cave system located directly west of Eitri, or north of Afalvat Mylna. You’ll need to look for the cave entrance symbol on the compass to locate an ice floor which can be broken, as shown in the screenshot below. You can then jump down and make your way to the main chamber of the cave.

Once inside, you’ll find a tomb at the centre of the chamber and the wealth chest beside it. You’ll need a key to open the chest, and you can use the Power of Jotunheim to reach the Jotnar portals around the room. If you don’t have this power but you have the Power of Muspelheim, you can use this to walk over the lava instead. If you have neither of these powers, don’t worry too much - you should be able to run over the lava without dying if you reduce the difficulty settings a bit, although you will still take some damage.

The key for the chest can be found by going to the southeastern side of the room, then following the path to a ledge through some ice walls. If you’re having difficulty finding it, see the gif below.

Dwarven Blacksmith Breeches - Feigardr

The Dwarven Blacksmith Breeches can be found at Feigardr, an island fortress on the southern coast of Vangrinn, as shown in the screenshot below. You’ll explore this area during the Pride of the Aesir quest, but you can also go there before or after the events of the story there. Once you’re inside the main chamber of the fort with all the locked doors, you’ll need to obtain a special key to find the chest where the armor is being stored.

Where to Find the Emerald Key

The first thing you should do is acquire all the keys from the central room. You can enter this by using the Power of Jotunheim to reach the portal inside if necessary. Once you have all the keys in here, you’ll need to find the Feigardr Emerald Key, which is behind a wall in one of the cells on the southern side of the room, as shown in the gif below.

How to Access the Armor Chest

Now that you have the Feigardr Emerald Key, you can use it to open a door on the northwestern side of the room. Behind this door you’ll find a destructible wall, which you can destroy using the Incendiary Powder Trap ranged ability, or by placing a fire pot next to it and then shooting the pot. However you do it, once you’re on the other side you can use the Power of Jotunheim to reach the area where the chest is stored, as shown in the gif below.

Dwarven Blacksmith Helmet - Fornama

The Dwarven Blacksmith Helmet can be found at Fornama, a mine located in a cave system southwest of the Hofgard Altar, or south of Afalvat Myla, in southern Vangrinn. The mine is infested with dangerous rats who will immediately attack if you step on the ground. You can use the ledges around the area to stay safe and plan your movements without being attacked, but you need to be quick to move on the ground before the rats reach you.

How to Avoid the Rats and Move the Barricade

Although there are some Jotnar portals in the mine, you won’t need to use any to get where you need to be for the chest which contains the helmet. Instead, all you need to do is move a barricade slightly to the southwest. This is potentially more difficult than it sounds, since you’ll need to do it in short bursts to avoid being killed by the rats.

Once you’ve moved the barricade far enough to the southwest, you can stand on top of it and jump to another barricade to your right, leading to the area where the chest is stored as shown in the gif below.

Gimsteinhus - Fenrir Incisor Dagger

The Fenrir Incisor Dagger can be found at Gimsteinhus, a small settlement in the swamps which has been occupied by Jotnar, southwest of the Hodda Shelter in Vangrinn. This is one of the easiest items to obtain once you know where to look. Go to the southern side of the main building in the centre of the settlement, then look for the window shown in the screenshot below.

Once you’ve identified the correct window, stand close to it and use the Power of Jotunheim, aiming for the Jotnar portal inside the building that you should be able to see from here. You can then teleport inside, break the ice and the wooden floor, jump down and find the chest behind an ice wall, as shown in the gif below.
