The Ballad of Kraka and Skavi

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to complete The Ballad of Kraka and Skavi mystery in Svaladal in the Dawn of Ragnarök DLC.

Skavi is found on the mountain in the southeast of Svaladal.

Where to Find The Ballad of Kraka and Skavi Mystery

This mystery can be started up a mountain near the southeast border of Svaladal, near Fidsthorp. Speak to the man at the camp and he’ll tell you that his raven, Kraka has flown up to the nearby Muspel floating rock fortress to find treasure but hasn’t returned! It’s up to you to help out Skavi and find his friend on the floating rock.

Skavi needs your help finding Kraka, his beloved raven pet.

How to Find Kraka

Before you can fly up to the Muspel floating rock fortress, you’ll need to obtain the Power of the Raven hugr-rip. If you don’t have it already, you can obtain it from some Giant Ravens nearby. Once you’ve got a full hugr bar and the power equipped. Fly over to the lava fortress to the west from where you spoke to Skavi. It might feel like you don’t have enough hugr stamina to reach it but it’s definitely possible! Make sure to choose to land as soon as the option comes up and you’ll speed towards the fortress right before your hugr bar runs out.

As soon as you land, it’s very likely you’ll have to take out the several Muspel enemies occupying the floating lava rock. There’s a bunch of them so make sure to avoid being hit by too many ranged attacks whilst you fight off the melee enemies. There’s also a lot of lava around, and you won’t be able to equip Power of Muspelheim early on as you’ll have depleted your hugr bar during your flight over. Make sure to watch where you’re treading and once you’ve killed enough enemies you can activate the power if you want.

Up on the higher level, you’ll find an Embers of Muspelheim rock - this is the treasure that Skavi and Kraka wanted to find! Once you’ve picked it up and taken out any remaining enemies, locate Kraka, who was captured by the Muspels, and can be found on the lower level of the floating rock. You’re not looking for a bird though! It turns out, Kraka is a Jotun shapeshifter and was pretending to be a real Raven! He’s not all bad though and wants you to return the embers to Skavi as he’d been a good friend to him. Kraka won’t be returning to Skavi though so you’ll need to make the journey back to Skavi on the mountain. You can either fly back or jump into the water below.

(1 of 3) You’ll have to fight all the Muspel enemies on the floating rock.

What Should You Tell Skavi About Kraka?

When you return to Skavi, you’ll have to choose from three answers when he asks you about Kraka:

  • I saw Kraka. And he’s no crow.
  • I saw him. But he flew away.
  • No, I didn’t see Kraka.

There are no consequences or alternative endings depending on your choice so you should choose based on your moral compass! At the end of the conversation, Skavi will let you keep the Embers of Muspelheim. He’ll also tell you to visit him when you find more treasure from the Muspel floating rock fortresses!

Whatever you tell Skavi, he’ll be grateful for your help and give you the Embers of Muspelheim to keep.
