Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

All Power of Winter Upgrades

By
Scott Peers

This page offers a guide on all Power of Winter Upgrades in the Dawn of Ragnarök DLC.

The base Power of Winter ability provides you with a damage boost of +30% to Muspel enemies. In addition, each time you hit an enemy you will gradually freeze them, slowing their movements until they are completely frozen. If you hit them in this frozen state, they will shatter into pieces. By default, this ability lasts for 20 seconds.

Winter’s Wrath

The upgrades for the Power of Winter are fairly simple. They don’t really add any new ability, but they make the existing abilities even more powerful. Winter’s Wrath provides an upgrade which causes enemies to explode after you hit them in their frozen state, which creates a frost explosion that damages other nearby enemies.

You’ll need 5 Silica and 20 Frozen Blood to purchase this upgrade.

Stabbing Cold

The Stabbing Cold upgrade increases your damage output while using the Power of Winter by an additional +10%. You will now also freeze enemies more quickly with each hit when using the ability, which in turn provides more opportunities to create frost explosions if you already have the Winter’s Wrath upgrade.

You’ll need 5 Silica and 20 Frozen Blood to purchase this upgrade.

How to Get Silica

Silica is a material obtained from Silica towers found exclusively in raiding locations. You’ll need to summon your raiding party to obtain the silica and you can either do this via your tool wheel once you’re at the destination, or by sailing into the raiding location’s docking area.

Collect silica to upgrade your hugr-rip.

How to Get Frozen Blood

As with Jotun Seidr, Frozen Blood is a material that has a chance to be looted from any Jotnar enemy, but this time with a guaranteed drop from Jotnar-Guld enemies in particular. You’ll find Jotnar camps and patrolling groups in the northern part of Svartalfheim, in the region of Svaladal. The camp of Tjarnar Myla is one of the best places to find a lot of Jotnar, shown on the map below.

The location of Tjarnar Mylna in northern Svaladal, where you’ll find plenty of Jotnar.
