Chompcraft

Chompcraft 101

Knowing when to relax is a virtue.

Chompcraft is a new mini-game unlocked near the start of Chapter 1. Whenever you want to distract yourself from saving the world, you can access Chompcraft by opening the Map menu and selecting the chomper icon partway down the list.

In this mini-game, your four party members automatically make plush chomper toys on the top screen, while their finished products appear in the work tray on the bottom screen. Each party member has a specific role: cutting, stuffing, gluing and finishing.

Plush chompers that you’ve made can be sold for chomp currency (cp). Normally, it takes 20 seconds to make one plush chomper, which you can sell for 50 cp apiece. Occasionally, you’ll make rare plush chompers, depending on the rate rate, which sell for more.

You can sell plush chompers at any time, by tapping the “Sell” button. The work tray can accomodate up to 24 plush chompers; once the tray is full, you need to sell your plush chompers to clear space for your party members to continue making more.

Snack Time

As your party members tirelessly slave away, the Snack Time gauge in the bottom-right corner will slowly fill up. Once it’s full, you can tap it to give your party members a hard-earned snack, which temporarily improves their parameters until the gauge runs out.

The key to success is carefully managing your party’s Snack Time. Since Snack Time greatly enhances your performance, you’ll want to carefully monitor the gauge and trigger it as soon as it’s available. That way you can benefit early on, rather than later or never.

Investing in the Chomp

As you start to gain significant amounts of cp, you should consider spending cp to upgrade your tools and snacks. To buy upgrades, tap the arrow icon in the bottom-left corner, then the shopping cart icon. A list of available upgrades will appear–tap to buy them or check their details.

Upgrading is costly, but if you’re smart, you’ll make it back.

From top row to bottom row:

  • Scissors: Increases the amount of plush chompers made per round.
  • Stuffing: Improves the sell price (cp).
  • Glue: Reduces the time taken (seconds) for each round of plush chomper making.
  • Brush: Improves the rare rate (by a small percentage).
  • Snack: Increases the performance boost during Snack Time.
  • Exchange Rate: Allows you to swap cp for pg.
It’s important to note that the first four category of upgrades are not passive . After buying one of these upgrades, you must actively trigger it by tapping the corresponding tool icon along the top of the bottom screen. Triggering an upgrade will cost additional cp.

Also, the upgrade will only apply for a limited duration , displayed as a countdown along the bottom of the top screen and an emptying gauge within the tool icon itself. After the upgrade runs out, you’ll need to tap the tool icon again and pay the corresponding cp cost again.

Finally, if you’ve upgraded a tool multiple times, you’ll have to tap the tool icon multiple times to trigger the desired level of upgrade. Each time you trigger a particular level of upgrade, the duration of the upgrade will be extended appropriately.
