This page offers a guide on how to beat Il Piantissimo in the race to the flag in Il Piantissimo’s Sand Sprint in Gelato Beach.
Race Il Piantissimo to the Flag¶
In this episode, you’ll need to race against Il Piantissimo to the top of the hill overlooking the central tower. The course is straightforward enough, you just need to head from the beach, past the tower, up the path along the top of the cliff to the flag at the top. You’ll need to do it in less than 35 Seconds in order to beat Il Piantissimo!
Il Piantissimo challenges you to a race!
The tricky part in this race is how you navigate reaching the path on the cliff up to the flag. The Dune Bud that you likely used in previous levels to spawn in some stairs is not available, meaning you’ll need to find another way to get up. You can either wall jump up the alcove, or you can find a shortcut!
Instead of running to the alcove, wall jump against the central tower and then up onto the mirror on the right side. From there you can run and then jump and hover over to the path on the cliff. This move will knock seconds off your run and you’ll be able to overtake Il Piantissimo easily by taking this route.
