This page offers a guide on the Sandblast Speed Run Power Star in the Dusty Dune Galaxy. This galaxy is located in the Bedroom dome.
Speed Run¶
To get the Power Star you have to get through the Blasting through the Sand level in under four minutes and 30 seconds. The majority of the level is identical but with a few changes such as the removal of some enemies.
Due to time being of the essence it’s always best to avoid enemies if you can and not collect unecessary Star Bits. However, as seen in Blasting through the Sand level you have to defeat the Pokey Heads and Pokey to progress. Get rid of the Pokey Heads as quick as possible by spinning and jumping on them while you wait for your spin attack to reset. To quickly defeat Pokey, spin attack his regular body once so that he is a stack of three. At this height you can jump and directly spin attack his head instantly defeating him.
After hitting Pokey’s body once just go straight for the head to defeat him!
Quickly jump through each planet as quick as you can. Obviously some planets take longer than others as you have to collect Star Chips on some. Be sure to know before hand which way you need to go on the maze planet as that can lead to confusion and may be your greatest obstacle in this speed run.
