Description

This page offers an overview for the Freezeflame Galaxy. This galaxy is found in the Bedroom dome. You will need at least 26 Power Stars.

Whenever you do a different star, the galaxy will alter or new planets will be available. Each star challenge will have its own section with a guide on all of the enemies in that level.

The Frozen Peak of Baron Brrr

The goal of this level is to reach the peak of the mountain and defeat Baron Brrr.

Ice Mario

The Ice Mario form is available on The Frozen Peak of Baron Brrr level. Ice Mario can run and skate on water as he creates platforms of ice underneath his feet as he walks. To skate press Y or shake the RIGHT Joy-con. You also have the ability to walk and skate on lava, as you create ice platforms before you touch it. The Ice Flower power up has a time limit and will wear off after a certain period of time.

Ice Mario can walk on almost any surface and skate on the ice platforms he creates!

Enemies

  • Goombas - Goombas will simply run at you and try to damage you by touching Mario. To defeat them, spin attack them then run at them to kick them away, or just jump on their head.

  • Boulders - Boulders will essentially just run over Mario if he’s in their path. To break them, you need to spin attack their ruby core, which is easier said than done!

  • Ice Bubbles - Ice Bubbles will charge at you to tackle you and if they hit you, you’ll take damage whilst also being frozen on the spot. To defeat them you need to spin attack or shoot a Star Bit at them to put them out. Once they’re elemental flair is gone you can run into them to kick and defeat them. However, be careful not to kick them back into the freezing water as this will recharge them and they’ll come right back at you.

  • Bomps - Bomps will act as obstacles for you on your journey and can push off the side of the map if you’re not careful. They will move in a set back and fourth direction where you’ll have to time the best moment to get past them. They can also be used as steps or platforms to get to different areas of the map.

Boss Enemy - Baron Brrr

Baron Brrr will be waiting for you in his arena at the peak of the mountain. As soon as you reach the area he will begin to shoot chunks of ice at you from his higher platform. To reach him you need to get the Ice Flower in the area and skate across the water and wall jump to his higher platform.

Once you’re up there he will create a shockwave with a ground pound which can be dodged with good timing. To inflict damage you have to initially spin attack near him to make him shrink to his more vulnerable form. Once he’s in his smaller vulnerable form, you can directly spin attack him to inflict damage. You will need to do this three times to shatter him and take the Power Star.

(1 of 2) Baron Brrr’s first form will be the one that attacks you

Baron Brrr’s first form will be the one that attacks you (left), when you get him to shrink, he is more vulnerable and will try and avoid your attacks! (right)

Hidden Star: Conquering the Summit

This hidden Power Star can be found during the Frozen Peak of Baron Brrr level. The goal of this level is to reach the very top of the mountain, where a Power Star will be waiting for you.

Fire Mario

Fire Mario is available on this level as you traverse your way up the mountain. Fire Mario can shoot fireballs by pressing Y or by shaking the Right Joy-con. This becomes your standard attack and you will need to use the fireballs to get past the snowmen who block your path.

When you become Fire Mario you can now shoot fireballs to defeat a lot of enemies.

Enemies

  • Ice Bats - Ice Bats are similair to their regular Bat counterparts and attack by attempting to collide with you. They will freeze Mario on impact. They can only be defeated by hitting them with your fireballs as Fire Mario.

Other Enemies

  • Ice Bubbles
  • Goombas
  • Bomps
  • Boulders

Freezeflames Blistering Core

The goal of this level is to traverse through the lava planet and lighting the torches to reach the Power Star.

You’ll want to watch where you step in this level!

Enemies

  • Red Urchins - Red Urchins are similair to your standard Urchins but reside on land. They will roll towards you in an attempt to inflict damage. They are slow moving and can be avoided but can be troublesome in large numbers. They can be defeated by using fireballs or having them roll into the lava.

  • Li’l Cinders - Li’l Cinders are the lava equivalent to Ice Bubbles. They will attempt to tackle you and if they do you’ll take fire damage and start running around uncontrollably. You can defeat them by putting them out by spin attacking or shooting them with Star Bits. Followed by running into them to kick them. Again, like their ice counterparts, if you kick them into the lava they’ll reignite to attack you.

  • Steam Jet - Steam Jets are hazards that you will encounter as you travel through the level. They will shoot bursts of hot air which can damage you if you come into contact.

Other Enemies

  • Goombas
  • Boulders

Hot and Cold Collide

The goal of this level is to reach the Power Star at the end using a mixture of Ice Mario’s and Fire Mario’s abilities.

Ice Mario is cold enough to withstand the heat!

Enemies

  • Urchins - The Urchins are spiky sea creatures that will damage you if you touch them. You can’t defeat them by jumping on them or spin attacking them. Like the Red Urchin, you can defeat them by luring them into lava or shooting a fireball at them.

  • Mini Goombas - Mini Goombas are like regular Goombas and will run at you to try and hurt you. However, they are less durable and will be defeated by just one spin attack.

  • Fireballs - Fireballs will start shooting at you from the huge spheres of fire on the starting planet.

Other Enemies

  • Red Urchins

Frosty Cosmic Mario Race

The goal of this level is to race Cosmic Mario and reach the Power Star before he does!

Cosmic Mario approaches!

Enemies

  • Cosmic Mario - Cosmic Mario shares a lot of similarities with Mario in terms of shape and ability. Everything you have to your disposal, Cosmic Mario has too. Cosmic Mario cannot be defeated in your typical manner. To defeat Cosmic Mario you will need to reach the Power Star at the end of the level before him. Therefore it is best to utlize shortcuts, long jumps and speed boosts when racing against this doppelganger.
