Description

This level is only available when there is a Daredevil Comet in orbit in Melty Molten Galaxy.

Daredevil Run

This is a tricky level as you need to complete the entire The Sinking Lava Spire level without taking any damage! This means you must make your way through without being hit by a single fiery rock or fall into lava. If you take any damage, you’ll need to begin the level again!

Lava Lake

You’ll begin near a large lava lake. You’ll need to make your way past the li’l cinders and the fire jets so you can reach the platforms going across the lava lake. There are lots of star bits around here, which you should consider collecting as you may need the extra lives if you need to give this level a few goes.

Make your way across the lava lake by using the precarious sinking paths.

Head over the sinking platforms that span across the lake, but watch out, if you stand on them for too long they’ll sink into the lava and you’ll take a bit of burn damage! When you’re at the other side of the lake, head up the steps then past the fire jets. Then, wall jump up the concrete block and groundpound it to reveal another wall jumping structure. Head up that and then go to the right to take a sling star towards the volcano. When you’re near the volcano, take the second sling star and then the Launch Star to head up to a new set of planets.

Pull Stars Through the Lava Planets

Before you land on the ball of lava quickly spin in the sling star to jump up onto the glass planet. From there, jump onto the highest glass planet so you can reach a series of pull stars. Carefully, you’ll need to use the Pull Stars to get through a set of fiery lava planets. Take your time, as the orbs spit out balls of fire. When you’re at the end, use the pull stars to guide you into a Launch Star.

Use the pull stars to carefully navigate through the lava orbs.

Collect the Star Chips

Next, you’ll need to take the Sling Star off the small metal mound. You’ll land on another lava covered area where you’ll need to collect five Star Launcher Chips. They’re easy to find, but just watch out for the li’l cinders and the fire jets.

After you’ve collected all chips, a Star Launcher will spawn and you can take it over to the final section of the level.

Climbing the Sinking Spire

When you reach the next area, you’ll need to quickly move across a series of sinking stone platforms until you reach the base of the spire. When you land on the base, a cut scene will trigger and you’ll see the spire begin to fall, meaning you only have a certain amount of time to make it up to the top to grab the Power Star!

First off, you’ll need to head to the right. You should long jump wherever you can as it’s faster than running. As you make your way up, you’ll need to avoid a series of boulders. You should try to run past them as you don’t want to linger on the sinking spire! Then, you’ll come to a concrete block that you need to groundpound. When you’ve groundpound the block, quickly jump off onto the platform to the right, as the concrete block is going to fall into the lava to reveal a wall jumping structure. Once the structure has been revealed, wall jump up it before the lava catches up with you.

Make your way up the sinking spire and watch out for lava and boulders!

From there, run up and left dodging the li’l cinders and the crystals in your way. Finally, jump to the top level and spin attack the Power Star crystal two times to release it. Grab the star to end the level and make it out before the lava engulfs you!
