Description¶

This page offers an overview of Beach Bowl Galaxy. Beach Bowl Galaxy is the first galaxy unlocked in the Kitchen dome, and you need 18 stars to unlock it.

Sunken Treasure¶

This level only has access to one planet as it is an underwater level. The goal of this level is to reach the mainland of the island by launching yourself from the water, to reach the Power Star.

Enemies¶

• Urchins - The Urchins are spiky sea creatures that will damage you if you touch them. You can’t defeat them by jumping on them or spin attacking them. You’ll need to either use a shell, guide a Torpedo Ted into them or use a Rainbow Star if you have access to one.

• Big Eels - The Giant Eels will not chase you, but if you’re caught in their path they will either bite you or slap you with their tails. You’ll need to use shell to defeat them in this level.

• Giant Clams - Clams can’t move but often they’ll have something in their mouths that you need. They will only harm you if you’re caught in their mouths when they shut.

The Clam will only damage you if you’re in his mouth when he shuts it.

• Piranha Plants - Piranha Plants will try to bite Mario. They have a fairly large range, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to defeat the plant before it bites.

• Wigglers - When wigglers are yellow, they move slowly. But if you jump on their heads, they’ll turn red and move very quickly. If they run into you, you’ll be damaged. To defeat them, you can either spin to incapacitate them and then jump on them, or jump on them twice in a row.

Passing the Swim Test¶

This level has the same planets as the Sunken Treasure level. It also has a majority of the same enemies as the Sunken Treasure level as it is on the same planet. The main goal of this level is to grab the golden shell, so there isn’t much cause to have many enemies.

The Secret Undersea Cavern¶

This level has access to two planets. The goal of this level is to find the secret cavern then make your way across the treacherous path of Thwomps and Tox Boxes to reach the Power Star.

New Enemies¶

• Goomba - Goombas will simply run at you and try to damage you by touching Mario. To defeat them, spin attack them then run at them to kick them away, or just jump on their head.

• Bats - The Bats are found within the secret cavern. There are two of them and they will fly at you to damage you, but you can easily spin jump to defeat them.

• Thwomps - Thwomps will crush Mario and defeat him instantly if he is standing beneath them when they crash down. You cannot defeat them in this level, so you’ll just have to avoid being crushed by them.

• Tox Boxes - Tox Boxes look a little like Thwomps except they roll around a path, fatally squashing you if you’re in their way. The only way to avoid them is to stand on a tile when they land with their mouth open. This will protect you and you can get behind them on their path.
