Description¶

This page offers a guide on the first level in Deep Dark Galaxy. This galaxy is found in Garden dome and requires 46 stars to unlock.

Light the Beacons¶

First things first, you’ll need to use the cannon to launch yourself to the Octoguys’ planet. If you aim yourself correctly, you can shoot through a Rainbow Star, which means you’ll be able to run through the many Octoguys with ease. Whether you want to defeat the Octoguys or not, grab the Fire Flower and then quickly use the Sling Star to take you back to the starting planet. Remember, this ability is on a timer, so you need to be fast.

You can use the Rainbow Star to run right through the Octoguys.

When you’re back on the ground, quickly run over towards the gate and shoot fireballs at the two beacons. When you light them, the gates will open up and you can walk towards the deep lake.

Lake Switches¶

When you reach the lake, you’ll need to dive in and swim towards the bottom - watch out it’s deep! There are plenty of bubbles to give you air though, so don’t panic too much. When you swim deeper, you’ll notice a large Star Bit arrow that’ll guide you to where you need to be. When you reach the arrow you’ll need to flip the switch that’ll open up a gate under the water.

Next, you’ll need to swim upwards. In the top left, you’ll find two Jammyfish guarding another switch. They swim very slowly so you can flip the switch quickly. This will open up the gate above you so you can swim to the final area of the level.

Kamella Ghost Ship Fight¶

When you reach this final area, you’ll need to make your way over to the ship. Make sure you watch out for the Boos as you walk up to the ship.

Once your on the ship, you’ll begin your boss fight with Kamella. She will shoot out fire balls and green shells. Your goal is to grab the green shells and chuck them back at her! The best way to do this is to jump and then throw the shell in her direction. She often disappears and pops up in new areas so watch out that you don’t throw your shell too late.

When you successfully hit her twice, she will move up to the crow’s nest. Use the pole to climb up to the crow’s nest. Here, you’ll find that she has spawned in two Magikoopas. These will shoot out fireballs, so you want to make sure you take them out quickly as the crow’s nest will be overwhelmed with fireballs. You’ll need to hit Kamella with two more green shells to defeat her for good. Upon her defeat, a Power Star will spawn.
