Description¶
This level becomes available once a Purple Comet is in orbit of Space Junk Galaxy. This can only happen once you’ve completed The Fate of the Universe and the first Purple Comet level in the Terrace dome.
Collecting the Purple Coins¶
In this level, there are 10 clusters of 10 purple coins to collect. You will also only have two minutes to collect all the coins so following the outlined route will be useful for collecting all the coins in the allotted time. The pathways only appear when Mario walks towards them, but sometimes the paths come to a dead end and you’ll need to find another way. The route outlined below will offer you a relatively straightforward path to follow.
First off you’ll need to walk straight forward and grab the first 10 coins. From there take the path to the left, then head up at the intersection until you reach the next circle of 10 coins. Then, go left and then up again to get the next set of 10 coins. From this next intersection you’ll need to head left, then jump across a gap in the platforms. At the next intersection, go upwards and then go right to reach the next 10 Purple Coins.
For the first set of coins, you just need to head straight forward.
At this point you should have 40/100 of the coins. From here, you should head up until you reach an intersection, then go right. Along this path, you’ll need to jump over two separate gaps in the platofrms. Finally, when you reach another intersection, head down for another 10 Purple Coins. The next set of 10 coins is very easy, all you need to do is walk left straight from the last circle of coins.
After collecting your 6th set of coins, bringing your total to 60/100, you’ll need to head down and then right and then down again to reach the next circle of 10 Purple Coins. The next set of coins is slighty awkward to get to but basically you need to walk down to the end of the path from the circle of coins, and then long jump diagonally to the right get onto a platform that’ll be just to the left of the next 10 coins. From here, walk right then up to get the penultimate set of 10 coins. And finally, follow the path upwards, then right at the intersection, then up again to grab the last circle of 10 coins.
There are lots of different routes to take, but some might be more complex and time consuming than others.
Once you’ve collected all the coins, a Power Star will spawn back at the beginning. Unfortunately for you, the countdown timer doesn’t stop, so you’ll need to hurry back to the start. If you’ve followed the outlined route, you should make your way to the start by heading down and to the left so that you’re back in the middle of the path area. It’ll be relatively straightforward to find yourself back from here as you just need to make a couple of jumps downwards to reach the Power Star.
Once you’ve collected all the coins, you’ll need to hurry back to the start to grab the Power Star.
