Nightingale

All Hide and Fabled Hide Locations - Nightingale

By
Scott Peers

Hides are an essential material for many crafting recipes in Nightingale, ranging from your first Umbrella (a vital tool in this game!) to interior lighting for your base, but also things that you might not expect, such as strengthening potions. It’s not difficult to find regular hides early on in the game, they drop from almost any animal you can encounter, such as Boar, Wolves, and Deer. However, Fabled Hides are another matter, and although they can drop from pretty much any creature with a low chance, there are specific types of Fabled Hides that can only drop from creatures in specific biomes, such as the Weald Bear, which can only be found in Forest biomes.

Best Hide Locations Chart - Nightingale

In the table below, you can see a full list of all hide types that are currently in Nightingale. Note that these can technically be found at any realm power and with any minimum realm card, but you’ll generally have a better chance of finding Fabled Hides in the higher tier realms, such as Astrolabe and above. The main differences here come in the form of the biomes since you can only find specific types of hide in their associated biomes. So, if your Abeyance realm happens to be in the Desert, you’ll need to travel to a Forest realm biome for Carnute hides or a Swamp realm biome for Harpy hides.

(1 of 2) You can easily find Predator Hides from Wolf Packs in Forest biomes.

As you progress through the higher tier realms, you may find that some versions of the hides listed below can only be accessed when you have a skinning knife with a high gear score. The same goes for other resources, and it’s for this reason that you should always seek to upgrade your main tools, such as the axe, sickle, mining pick, and also the skinning knife. If your knife isn’t capable of skinning a particular creature, you should see this indicated by the level next to the knife icon when you hover over them.

Another thing to keep in mind when you’re hunting specific creatures is that they will be tougher to kill in the higher tier realms. This should go without saying, but you’ll need to make sure that you’re well-prepared to fight the tougher creatures in higher realms. Although they’re essentially the same creature, they will inflict much more damage and have more maximum health, so they’ll be tougher to kill if you don’t keep your gear upgraded.

We’ll be updating this page as we learn more about the different types of hides in Nightingale. In the meantime, you may find our All Ore Locations and All Plant Fibre Locations pages useful.

Nightingale is a PvE open-world survival crafting game with a few unique features for the genre. First among these is the Realm Card system, whereby players can discover and craft Major or Minor realm cards to influence aspects of procedurally generated worlds or character attributes respectively. You may find yourself in a more forgiving or hostile world depending on the Major cards you use, but the Minor cards can give you an edge against foes with boosts to damage, health, stamina, or other aspects of survival. The game is set in the Victorian era and has more than a little influence from Steampunk fiction, so if that’s anything like your thing, you’ll love this world!
