There are many basic materials in Nightingale that you will use in most of the recipes for items that you craft, and Twine is one of the more important ones. You’ll need to use Twine to craft various furniture types to make your base look even more homely, which in turn grants buffs to some of your crafting stations. Unlike materials such as Plant Fiber, you won’t be able to simply gather it, instead, you must craft it. This page will tell you how to craft Twine in Nightingale.
How to Craft Twine in Nightingale¶
As with many recipes in Nightingale, you’ll be able to obtain the Twine recipe when you acquire the necessary workstation needed to craft it. For Twine, you’ll need the Simple Spinning Wheel, a workstation that you won’t begin the game with. Once you’ve finished the prologue and found yourself in your home realm, you’ll be able to set off to find it.
To craft Twine, you’ll need to use two Plant Fibers at the Simple Spinning Wheel.
How to Get the Simple Spinning Wheel¶
The first step for crafting Twine is to acquire the Simple Spinning Wheel, and you can get this recipe by purchasing it from the Essence Trader in your home realm. Open the map and take a look at the icons on there, one of these should be the local Essence Trader, this is the person you’re looking for. Odds are, you may have to travel quite some distance to reach them, but you’ll usually find them stood with a companion that you can recruit near the Antiquarian dungeon.
As the name implies, the Essence Trader needs, well, Essence, and the easiest way to acquire that when starting is by gathering Plant Fiber with a Sickle and converting it into Essence by extracting it in your inventory. You’ll only need 55 Essence for the Simple Spinning Wheel, but it’s a good idea to purchase some of the other recipes while you’re here, especially if it is a long journey.
Return to your base once you have the recipe and build the Simple Spinning Wheel, you’ll need the following materials to craft it:
- Wood Bundle x3
- Plant Fiber x15
- Bones x1
These are all basic materials, but if you’re short on Bones, head out into the wilds and take down any animal you come across. You can then use your Hunting Knife to get at least one Bone per kill. Be sure to place your Simple Spinning Wheel inside your base and consider putting it near a Campfire to get yourself the Warm and Well Lit Augmentations.
