Nightingale

How Heat Works in Nightingale

By
Craig Robinson

Heat is one of the few weather effects (like rain and hail) players will need to avoid as they progress through biome cards. It is worth noting that this is an exclusive status effect that players in Desert Worlds are going to deal with, but there are ways to mitigate the problems associated with it. So, here’s a closer look at how to handle Heat in Nightingale, featuring tips on making it less of a hassle when you don’t have shade.

Here is a closer look at how to manage the heat status effect in Nightingale.

How to Handle Heat in Nightingale

Simply put, Heat is a status effect that will gradually build up while you are exposed to direct sunlight in Nightingale’s Desert Biome. If you fail to find shade, natural or using your Umbrella, then the status meter will fill up fast.

You’ll notice that you have two bars of the Heat resistance meter. When you reach the middle part, aka complete the first bar, you’ll lose a bit of stamina. Cap the meter out, and you’ll lose even more stamina. It makes climbing the bluffs a pain, that’s for sure. So, be warned that this does make traveling a lot harder. We strongly recommend using an umbrella when in these realms, and have the spare parts to make tents if you’re desperate.

Heat Resistant Buffs

If you want to lower the risk of Heat when you’re out and about, there are a few tips you can do to make it easier. Firstly, your coat always tends to be the main source of temperature resistance, whether it’s cold, wet, hail or heat-related. In addition, players can find certain foods that further increase their resistance to heat. Things like Sunflowers and Aloe Vera grant minor buffs to heat resistance, meaning if you make meals out of those two foods, you will get fairly decent heat resistance food buffs. Create the mixed vegetable meals using those two crops, which you can find by the oasis in the desert, while the Sunflowers grow in the Forest biomes, and you have yourself a solid recipe for heat resistance.

This is about as much detail we can give you in relation to Heat Resistance in Nightingale. Hopefully, these tips assist you with exploring desert worlds, such as for the Desert Herbarium Quest and the Desert Astrolabe quests as part of the main storyline.

Nightingale is a PvE open-world survival crafting game with a few unique features for the genre. First among these is the Realm Card system, whereby players can discover and craft Major or Minor realm cards to influence aspects of procedurally generated worlds or character attributes respectively. You may find yourself in a more forgiving or hostile world depending on the Major cards you use, but the Minor cards can give you an edge against foes with boosts to damage, health, stamina, or other aspects of survival. The game is set in the Victorian era and has more than a little influence from Steampunk fiction, so if that’s anything like your thing, you’ll love this world!
