Elden Ring

All Ashes of War in Weeping Peninsula

By
Scott Peers

The Weeping Peninsula has only two Ashes of War to discover, quite the contrast from the plentiful supply in Limgrave. This page details where to find both Ashes of War in the Weeping Peninsula region of Elden Ring.

Ashes of War are used to enhance weapons and other equipment with powerful special attacks. The Ashes of War obtained by defeating the Night’s Cavalry in Weeping Peninsula is used for characters who wield shields, while the other dropped by a Teardrop Scarab can be used by characters with light bows and longbows.

All Ashes of War Locations in the Weeping Peninsula of Elden Ring

Name Location
Ash of War: Barricade Shield Dropped by Night’s Cavalry boss, who patrols along the road near Castle Morne Rampart during night
Ash of War: Mighty Shot Dropped by Teardrop Scarab, located on the road just north of road near Castle Morne Rampart

Ash of War: Barricade Shield

This Ash of War is dropped by the Night’s Cavalry who patrols along the road near the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace during night. You can use the nearby site to force night time so that the boss spawns. The Barricade Shield grants a Standard affinity to your armament, and has the following description:

“A Skill made famous by Sir Neidhardt. Focus your energy into your shield, temporarily hardening it to deflect greater blows. It can be used on all types of shield.”

In simple terms, this skill allows you to temporarily strengthen your shield (for 10 seconds), which will allow you to block powerful hits without taking as much chip damage and without consuming as much stamina. This can be particularly useful against tough bosses whose attacks inflict a lot of damage.

Ash of War: Mighty Shot

This Ash of War is dropped by a Teardrop Scarab which roams the road just north of the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace. Once the scarab notices you, you’ll have a relatively short window of time to defeat it before it disappears. If this happens, you can return to the Site of Grace and pass time to ensure that the scarab respawns. It should only take a couple of hits to kill it.

This Ash of War grants a Standard affinity to your armament and provides the Mighty Shot skill, which essentially allows you to fire more powerful arrows which have a knockback effect on some enemies.
