How to Find the Callu Baptismal Church

The Callu Baptismal Church is located atop a plateau just east of center on the Weeping Peninsula. To reach it, make your way west from the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace and follow a trail uphill until you see a building. Just before this building turn north and as you head uphill, look out for Callu Baptismal Church, which will be on a cliff to the right (east). How to Complete the Callu Baptismal Church

As you approach the church, be wary of the Rats lurking in the forest. Some will hide in foliage in an attempt to ambush you, others are scuttling around opportunistically. Unlike other Rats you may have encountered, these ones can inflict madness buildup. While improbable, if you sustain enough madness buildup you’ll be afflicted with the madness debuff, which damages your HP and FP. At this point in the game, it’s not too likely that you’ll end up with a full madness bar, but it’s still worth being wary of. It’s also worth noting the glowing yellow eyes of the inhabitants of this region - a clear sign that madness affliction is at play.

The rats aren’t the only threats near the Callu Baptismal Church, however, as you’ll find two Frenzied Villagers near the entrance to the church. One will roam about, while the other is locked in the throes of agony. The former will attack on sight, but the latter won’t react unless you get close, making him easy to backstab. While the villagers are all that dangerous in a fight (mostly resorting to slashing or stabbing with their swords or spears) they can also shoot flames from their eyes, inflicting damage and madness buildup.

Defeat the villagers, then enter the Callu Baptismal Church to find… more Rats. There’s about half a dozen smaller Rats and a Giant Rat inside the ruins of the church, but aside from their numbers they’re no more dangerous than the ones lurking in the forest nearby. Kill them, then plunder a corpse leaning against a column to gain the Flame of Frenzy incantation and search near the base of the statue to obtain a Sacred Tear, which will upgrade your flasks.

(1 of 2) Look for a ravine southwest of the Callu Baptismal Church.

That’s technically the only noteworthy loot in this area, but you may as well hit the Ailing Village to the north. You can also head southwest of the village to find a ravine, at the bottom of which lies the Morne Tunnel dungeon. You can’t easily reach this dungeon from here, but if you descend some gravestones sticking out of the cliffs you’ll reach an area covered with Fulgurbloom plants, which draw lightning strikes. The lightning is an environmental hazard you’ll need to avoid, but worse are the Giant Bats that dwell here. Seek out a scarab and kill it to obtain the Lightning Strike Incantation.
