Where to find Godrick’s Great Rune in Elden Ring¶
You’ll have to defeat Godrick the Grafted to obtain this Great Rune. You can find him at the end of the first Legacy Dungeon, Stormveil Castle. Stormveil Castle is located in the northwest of Limgrave. You can find out how to get through Stormveil Castle by following our guide here.
Where to activate Godrick’s Great Rune¶
You can activate the Great Rune in the Divine Tower of Limgrave which is situated to the east of Stormveil Castle. To get there, you’ll need to head back into the Castle. Teleport to the Liftside Chamber site of grace and exit out of the eastern doorway. This will take you to the courtyard with barricades and a lot of enemies. Head southeast down the stone stairs, and be aware of the Omen and the dog at the bottom of them. Defeat them, and continue southeast and defeat the enemies along the way. Most of them will be facing the opposite direction so just run up behind them and take them out.

Go across the courtyard whilst still heading southeast, and you’ll see a few more enemies, and some stairs heading down. Defeat the enemies, take the stairs down, and wait at the gate. Take a look around, and you’ll see some enemies on the upper platform as well as some manning the large crossbows. If you have a ranged weapon, slowly take them out whilst making your way down. If you are a pure melee build, you’ll have to sprint through praying that you don’t get hit by any projectiles hurled your way. When you reach the next gate, you’ll have more barricades with more enemies including a Lion Guardian. You’ll want to go through the doorway to your east, which is where the Lion Guardian is unfortunately. Ignore the enemies, and run through the doorway into the room with the Knight Statues and continue through until you reach the Limgrave Tower Bridge site of grace.

Head up the stairs, through the giant archway where you’ll have three Giant Stone Golems to contend with. One will be near the entrance, the second will be in the middle and the last will be far at the back with a bow. Either defeat the giants, or run past them whilst dodging the great arrows coming your direction, and take the teleporter at the end of the bridge. This will take you to the Divine Tower of Limgrave, open the doors and take the elevator up where you’ll see two fingers, these won’t attack you so walk up to them and activate the rune.

What does Godrick’s Great Rune do¶
Godrick’s Great Rune is arguably the best Great Rune in the game, and it’s a surprise that you get it so early. It’ll raise all your attributes by 5 when using a Rune Arc. This is great at any part of the game, but especially for bosses as you’ll gain more health, stamina, focus, and damage.
