How to Find and Complete the Saintsbridge in Limgrave

By
Nathan Garvin

Information and walkthrough for the Saintsbridge, an unmarked location in Elden Ring. Includes information about how to find and free the NPC Iron Fist Alexander and how to defeat the Mad Pumpkin Head enemy.

The Saintsbridge, seen from the west.

How to Find the Saintsbridge

The Saintsbridge can be found by following the road northeast from the Warmaster’s Shack or the Stormhill Shack. The Deathtouched Catacombs are to the west and slightly north, while the Highroad Cave is north and slightly east. If you cross the Saintsbridge to the east and follow the road you’ll eventually reach Summonwater Village. While the Saintsbridge is unmarked, it can be clearly seen on the map, and the Saintsbridge Site of Grace can be found on the western end of the bridge.

You can farm the Mad Pumpkin Head that guards the Saintsbridge.

How to Defeat the Mad Pumpkin Head

Saintsbridge itself isn’t a terribly complicated area - just a bridge connecting Stormhill and Summonwater. On the bridge, however, there’s a Mad Pumpkin Head enemy, which you may have encountered as a boss in the Waypoint Ruins Cellar. This variant doesn’t get a fancy boss bar, but unlike the latter this foe will respawn, allowing you to farm it for its Pumpkin Helm, if you want to acquire such headwear. The Mad Pumpkin Head is only minorly resistant to physical (strike) damage and weak to physical (slash) and lightning damage. This variant is fond of smashing its helmeted head on the ground repeatedly; wait for an opening before you strike or just use ranged attacks.

How to Find and Free Iron Fist Alexander

From the Saintsbridge Site of Grace (found along the side of the road on the western end of the Saintsbridge) make your way along the road to the west. Keep your eye to the left (south) and when you spot a ramp you can ascend. Follow it up to the top of the cliffs and work your way back east and you’ll find a large sentient… pot warrior? Whatever it is, it’s stuck and needs help getting out. Talk to this urn and agree to help it, then equip the heaviest weapon you have (the Brick Hammer or Battle Hammer from Stormveil Castle or the Murkwater Catacombs, respectively, both work well) and perform charged heavy attacks until the warrior jar pops free.

Immediately upon freeing the warrior jar - Iron Fist Alexander - you’ll gain the Triumphant Delight gesture, after which Alexander will tell you he’s heading east. You’ll next find him in the Gael Tunnel area, although this subsequent meeting isn’t very consequential.

A Nomadic Merchant past the Saintsbridge will sell you various wares.

What Items You Can Buy From the Nomadic Merchant

If you cross the Saintsbridge to the east you’ll find a campfire to the south of the road, near which is a Nomadic Merchant. He’ll sell you a variety of wares, as follows:

Item Cost (Souls) Notes
Pickled Turtle Neck 800 -
Smithing Stone (1) 200 -
Cracked Pot 600 -
Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook (3) 500 -
Short Sword 600 -
Halberd 1200 -
Arrow 20 -
Bolt 40 -
Bandit Mask 1500 -
Note: Flame Chariots 300 -

If you continue along the road to the east you’ll pass through a cemetery, where Skeletons armed with various weapons will spawn - after felling them, strike them again while they’re prone to defeat them for good. They’re a harbinger of things to come if you continue east to Summonwater Village.
